Get rid of guys like LHF who insist on insulting new players because of crappy builds (We all had crappy builds at one point).

No trolling suggestions.

To be fair, I was trolling it before the move.

It's not just learning how to build a dot - in the grand scheme of things the basics for that can be learned fairly quickly. Mastering it will take a little longer.
It's realizing it's going to take over 1 year in real time of their life to build a dot.
It's realizing there is nearly 1 month in real time between seasons where no meaningful games are being played.
It's realizing that there is a ton of dead time with this game.
Those numbers are staggering for any game - the average gamer will just move on to something else - and thats before you even factor in the cost to play the game if you boost/CE.

I think the bolded area is the suckiest part, if you screw up at all then you have wasted a year of your life with a shitty dot.

I think a big problem with things as they are now is that a new user will sign up, create a dot, build it wrong, post in the forums and be told immediately to retire the dot because it will never be useful
This has to be frustrating to new users so maybe some of these ideas could help.
1. Have a screen that pops up and tells new users to read certain stickies posts before creating a player. This way they would at least have an idea of how to build a player. It not that the information is not out there, it's that new users don't see it right away.
All Information is already there, and most people don't read it, when you sign up, you literally are forced to make a player.
2. Assign a mentor to new users. Existing users could volunteer to be a mentor and help start new users on the right path. Maybe even give them 250 RP if the user creates a player and stays on for a second season.
Because Networks aren't killing the game already, we need 12 guys from the same network "mentoring" new players, so the other 5000 owners have an even more difficult time finding people
3. The idea of only being able to make players at certain times of the season is terrible for new users. B and C need to figure out a way to create a new player at any time during the season. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT CHANGE NEEDED TO ATTRACT AND RETAIN NEW USERS.
You can make a player AT ANYTIME during a season, the best time would be during the 2 week downtime (Day 40 to 48) so the dot can compete at a normal age/level. That isn't the problem.
Now, the real issue, is a player makes a dot, finds out the season doesn't start for a week or two, then stops logging in, or make a dot, finds out the dot really isn't doing much stat wise, (lower levels), Finds out it's going to take him 1-2 years to get his dot too actually play well, and then at some point forgets about the game, moves on.
Bort acts like this is the only game users will play, I have actually been on here less, after Madden 13 came out. game is just plain boring.

I think if player's aged faster this game would be a lot less mind numbing boring. Even in the hardest RPG's getting to max level doesn't even take that long. Could you imagine if it took you a full year to level to 99 in older Final Fantasy games? I would probably shoot myself in the damn face. I would imagine if your someone with a HOF package it wouldn't be as bad, but just imagine if your a brand new player with a free dot that takes that long. Not everyone has the money to buy enough flex to build 800 dots. I think making a player level to 79 faster but still keeping a good amount of career left afterwards would make things a lot more enjoyable for me. This is just my opinion though.
For the people with only a few dots this game is like the football version of a Chia pet. I don't know how many of you watch those things grow, but it's pretty damn boring.

You can make a player at any time during the season, but lets clarify this:
a) If you do, you have thrown away 17 training sessions, basically you have to make up those 100 BT's by cutting off Multi-Train earlier - thats a pretty significant chunk of training..
b) Because your player is out of sync development wise he's going to have a tough time even finding a team, and even if he does he's going to be gimped relative to the rest of the league for at least the first 5 seasons.
They need to put that in the fine print, along with the all the other stuff they are expected to digest before committing to making that player. There is a reason the vets don't just make players any time that way - it's suicide. Making a player is 1/2 the battle, you have to make one people will want - and who in their right mind wants a 26 Day old player who lost out on an entire offseason of training at the beginning of his build to play in a 40 Day league?
We'd be the biggest hypocrites in this game if we said it's ok to make a player on ANY day - while you can it's probably the most stupid thing you could do next to spending initial SP's on SA's.
