Think they should worry about getting this sim balanced completely before even worrying about penalties and what not.

Yep, there's at least 4 false starts to one encroachment.

I haven't seen an encroachment actually called in several seasons and I watched a couple hundred sims a season probably

probably because D-line gets vision up, while most O-line treats vision as a red-headed step child.

Vision is not usually a top 4 attribute for D-Line dots (Str, Agi, Tack, Spd) so for the age that I think DR is referring to, neither have Vision up.

vision and confidence both apply to the penalties, so if both are in the shitter then you'll have false starts as well.

if you want to get technical, and im not sure its even coded, a false start is any movement by an OL... encrochment is the D touching the O... you guys are taking encroachment as offsides and they are not even close to being the same.

I think we all get the differences in RL, but this is GLB, so encroachment and false start are essentially the same.....a failed roll pre snap that triggers a penalty.

You do realize that's similar to the NFL right? There are probably 5-10 false starts on the offense for every encroachment by the D. If we're looking for REALISM as you all claim, then false starts SHOULD be happening way more often on the O side.

Right, but the fact that they are the only penalties is the problem. They need to think about coding O and D pass interference to make pushoffs try and not look like pushoffs and use a vision roll. As it is, vision has very little to do with getting open and getting to the ball, and IRL vision or 'football sense' should be one of the most important things a WR has to break a route open. Right now, there is some football skill and athleticism, but I'd be interested in seeing WRs route running and breaking to the ball based on their vision before GLB is out of beta.

Penalties add nothing but frustration to this game.

+1

Can't remember ever thinking wow, that would have been a really great game if only there were more false starts. Atleast every drive isn't killed by them like back in season 26-27.

Only wish they left the sim alone from season 29. It's starting to look like the woman that had way too many cosmetic surgeries again. Rumor is offense is going to be nerfed again, they may find the user base nerfed as well.

Would probably lose more users if they didn't fix that bullshit with outside runs.

Sad that this shitty idea is still open to suggestion but yet any suggestion of mine gets locked in an hour and I get a forum ban warning for them...so dumb... http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4988939

to mod that sees this, if linking a locked thread is wrong, then just delete this. Posting in GLB is just getting stupid these days.

What's wrong with this suggestion?

The couple of penalties in this game are just a relic of back in the early stages of this game. It's obvious Bort has no plans to add the other penalties.

They rarely fix things unless there is mass rage quitting. They need slight tweaks, but it is generally incredibly overpowered one season then nerfed completely the next. Their fix would likely make outside runs completely impossible reguardless of builds or defensive play call.
