A lot of kickers say that when teams try to ice them it actually helps them relax and gives them a better chance to visualize the kick. I think it's more of a mentality by coaches that "welp, the game's almost over and I have a timeout so I better use it so it doesn't go to waste". lol

Reid calls timeout just as the ball is kicked....and the kick is NO good, has the distance but wide left. Yikes they get to kick again and win! But NOO the second kick is even worse, few feet short of the goal post albeit on line.
It was pretty clear the prior attempt had cost the guy some gas in his leg and maybe unnerved him a bit.

If it "cost the guy some gas in his leg" he has no business in the NFL. Have you ever been to a college game and watched a kicker warm up before the game? They stand out there and attempt kick after kick one after the other moving further back.
