Doesn't really need to be

One Blocker One Block (at the same time that is, pancake one then block another, or one breaks block and then block the next, is fine)

You're correct. Doesn't need to be.

But, if he listed more than one play, and suggested something more than "fix this", could get more support.

I've posted on the subject ad nauseum with numerous examples. Bort knows. Apparently decided not to care.

for example

and

Yes, I know.

That's why I suggested the OP fine tune his "suggestion".

To avoid getting it locked as those two were.

Will try at some point.

if you need to redo the thread title, let one of us mods know.

Let's change the title to "A blocker should only be able to engage one defender at a time"

Does that work?

Also, how often does this happen?

I'd think some OC's would wonder why blocks weren't made in this instance:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2121463&pbp_id=2671082

I would just call it a missed block.

Some DC's wonder how WR2 just runs through 2 defenders without slowing down, or the defenders slowing down. Remember it may look different on the replay then it actually appears in Bort's code.

Changed.

Just trying to keep this from sounds like a complaint thread, and a legit suggestion.

Its not that the blocks werent made, its just that the blocker can only do so much. On the first replay, to engage a block like that and let the HB around he would essentially have to commit a holding penalty to do so. He's pushing the guy right to where the HB will be, its easy for the CB to disengage the block and tackle the HB. If the TE was between the HB and CB then its a different story

That blocking was actually set up pretty good - the LILB just spoiled the play. That FB has a good chance to beat the CB there if he doesn't have to spin out of the LILB tackle.

Bort has said a few times that a blocker can't block two defenders. I think what is happening is one defender is screened by the other defender that is being blocked and you see that even in real football.

Yes i know its private but if catch see's this he will know that something needs to be done. Perfect example of 2 guys being blocked at once

Actually, I've seen a lineman block (or attempt to) 2 guys at the same time. It had a limited effect as in it slowed down both guys he was blocking, but it's not a block he can/could sustain. At best, he can hinder the rush or impede the progress of both, but not sustain a block. Also, you can block someone into another, causing impedance to that other... but only that... a short slow-down of progress.

Bort has said before that a blocker CANNOT block more than 1 dot at a time. Just because you *think* you are seeing this in the sim does not mean it is actually happening.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2146387&pbp_id=2557179 from the OP is a perfect example of this. At no point during this play is the LT blocking both of the ROLB and RE at the same time. The issue you are seeing is that a blocker can switch to block another dot very quickly if he is not engaged, this is because of dots not being limited to only blocking infront of them. In this case the LT manages to push the RE away for a little while, enough so that he can engage the ROLB for a short time untill the RE is back in range, at which point the LT returns to blocking the RE and the ROLB gets the sack.

I can understand OLs obstructing more than one guy due to the tight confines, but what bugs me (particularly at low levels) is when a WR seems to be able to hold up 2 DBs
