They already do.

Yea, the O already does a vision check to pick up blocks also. I assumed everyone knew those little tid bits and wants something a bit more workable instead of having what we currently see. As is the checks done on blitzers is about as effective as the current vision check the deep safeties are doing with the runs.

Please stop posting. Blitzing LBs almost never react to screens and since the change last season are also unlikely to pass the check to react to runs.

Yeah, maybe he's confusing those times when the blitzer just happens to run into the RB.

Yeah, they can still attempt tackles when in range, they just don't make instant course corrections like they used to.

edit:

It would be nice if there was a "run blitz" option separate from the current QB-focused blitz, but that's probably more trouble than Bort wants to deal with.

wha?

That was my biggest gripe to counter blitzes, I was tired of seeing the blitzing LB stop dead in his tracks and turn around to make a tackle. The HB always stops to catch it so the LB could make up the ground, I wanted HB's to catch it in stride towards the sideline like most screen passes, but I'm not sure what you are saying here, I see it a lot.

Do you have any examples? As a DC I'm not sure I have ever seen it happen. I think you're looking at super-fast LB reactions and mistakenly thinking they were blitzing.

Super fast LB reactions that are heading right at the QB, stop dead in their tracks and turn around to tackle the HB right after he catches it.....I suppose....

ee, I sent you links, you still have them?

Otherwise jd if I see one again I'll send.

lol i get dozens of PMs a day .. i can't even remember when u sent them. did i respond?

i saw some examples of a weak side blitz today and the ROLB stops in time to react to the pitch. its not exactly often, typically they continue to the QB. which makes run/gap blitzing awful.

there is also a bug where a dot assigned to cover an HB will blitz the QB instead of read the play properly. (more a FS/SS thing than LB)
