An agent pays for their dots, so if they go MIA and don't resign those dots, then they should remain unsigned.

Not to mention that if a dots agent has been MIA for 2 seasons, then the dot is going to suck anyway....

Sorry bro, but Catch has already signed inactive dots for his cheap ass WL team he took over. Can't have an admin signing inactive dots and telling everyone else they can't sign inactives.

This is what everyone seems to be missing. An admin had already done this for his team yet the ignorant masses keep saying "omg! we can't do this!".

The only surprise here is not in who brought it up but in how long it took yello to do it after what was done.

I'm pretty sure he suggested a variant of this several seasons ago.

ugly can of worms opened by catch. i understand that its WL and it would look horrible to have a cpu team there, but couldnt another team have just been promoted? under no circumstances should players have been commandeered, unless those players had just been retired by now absent agents, but that too would have opened a can of worms.

To be clear, my suggestion had nothing to do with Catch, I did not even know he did it.

If someone is gone that long, who really cares? You think the old owner is going to come back an dbe pissed that his dots got some WL stats while he was gone? Not likely.

As for the OP, same same. So long as they can release them which the idea allows for, its a non-issue.

catch doing this is the ONLY reason to even consider it. under no other circumstances should people be allowed to hijack players. i've known many people that have come back from long absences.

i'm really surprised that this hasnt been locked up yet

Yeah, I disagree with what Catch did as well and think this definitely opened up a can of worms.

His reasoning (right or wrong) on not being able to replace the CPU team was that the schedules were out already and would take tons of manual work to redo the schedules. I'm not sure exactly how that all works, but any changes AFTER the schedules are released must be a huge pain in the butt.

Still, if that team is a guaranteed win, then it is just as well a CPU team as it is a team with a bunch of retired players.

Still a -1 on this though.....

This has to be one of the worst suggestions on the planet - seriously. 2 wrongs don't make a right, and what is happening in the WL is just plain wrong. Somewhere a team is getting cheated out of a chance to compete in the WL because of this very suggestion.
