This. You aren't getting a first place and second place trophy. You are getting one for winning the conference and one for the league championship. Keep as is imo.

Oh, boo-hoo, what a TERRIBLE calamity to have befallen me! For winning my league's championship contest, I have had not one, but TWO trophies bestowed upon me! And alas, one of them is of the color SILVER, a hue with inferior connotations for those who wish to peruse my trophy collection during their leisure time. And in order to prevent my peers from believing that I am either foolish enough to think this silver trophy to be a proud attainment or from believing that I am such a braggart that I need two trophies to commemorate the same victory, I am forced to take active steps to hide one of these trophies, perhaps in the trap-door under my bearskin rug.

If only I could convince those who control the rules and regulations for the endowment of trophies to only award me with the superior, golden-hued trophy. Perhaps the silver one can be melted down and donated to charity for the betterment of the poors.
