+1. I see no harm, no foul with this. It only makes sense and is fair for both teams involved. However, I doubt that this will come to fruition.
if neither team is the home or away team, then how do you handle applying season long promos, home VA's, etc.

so the championship game would be played without using morale boosting that was used all season and thus making it a different SIM?
that makes no sense
right now each team has the opportunity for up to +25 morale for each player whether they are home or away - there is no reason to change it
hence my continued -1
and as Dub J mentioned, it has been brought up for 4 seasons and not changed, so it is unlikely to change

The playoff sim is already different than the regular season sim so that's not a very good argument.

I believe this issue could dealt with easily enough. While a championship is not a "home game" for purposes of promotional gimmicks, it would still have to have one team listed as "home" and the other as "away". Usually this is based on records and scores and whatnot that has been used to determine such things already. What I think the OP is suggestion is that the advantages of being able to "purchase" team benefits for being the "home team" should not come into effect. You want to boost morale? Renew contracts... use flex... whatever other methods are available... just not "Free Beer Night".
That said, I worry about the effect it would have on certain VA's and SA's that fire when "playing at home"? If that too can be overcome similarly to the effects of morale... then this is a great idea. Sheesh... it's how it's done in most football championships anyways!
