The lack of AI and control over dots is why people go to casual. If that's not enough for them they should go back to regular leagues or PW.

I've often thought that GLB should have just made casual a league with AIs without custom slots and the DPC since I figured people would become bored with basic tactics eventually. I would totally dig casual if that's what it was. Regular is a bit too demanding and casual is a bit too boring/frustrating imo.

Exactly what I am saying, bump casual in some way to keep the interest and lower the frustration going into Pro, otherwise casual is simply a holding tank to dots until they feel they are ready to move into the serious ego zone.

There could be some happy medium or at least add some trinkets to casual to pass the time and eliminate some of the frustration.

Casual can not overcome the flakey sim from season to season like non-casual has the ability to.

Other than responding with the continual "it's ok, it's good, I like it" etc, do you have any suggestions as to what could be added to casual that would make it more than just a stripped down BETA version of non-casual?

Let me try to give an example, since I guess the OP is over the heads of some...

Let's say that casual leagues have "team challenges" or "mini games" that can be scheduled by the owners, but this can only be done in casual. Non-casual would not have this option.

This is just an example, so don't go chewing this one up too much.

you are forgetting something here though. how many casual players actually want anything added to the game? I think casual players would rather see Bort and Co fix the sim and make the casual game less frustrating by actually having a good sim rather than add some crappy token stuff like you recommended.

Both leagues are boring as fuck. The game is boring.

personally i like casual exactly the way it is. seems like when we want them to make changes things usually go wrong . I am not a big fan of the presets casual has now(and dont use them) but will settle with it the way it is before i want them to change it. But if youre looking for more entertainment the regular leagues will keep you entertained. with 6 kids, a crazy wife(shes a professional clown) and my job i like the layed back casual game style.

Why do people keep looking to change casual? It is supposed to be exactly what it is. If you want more "excitement" and more to do, go to regular leagues and take on some teams. There are many looking for coordinators I'm told. Leave those of us that like and play the casual game alone.

I just want to edit a preset playbook. I would be happy with that.

BUT... I do love that I dont have to spend a week doing shit to get ready for a casual game and I would want it to stay very close to that.

My opinion is that if they fix the competitiveness of the leagues it will make casual more interesting. It is just too easy to have blowouts the way they have the leagues structured. A whole lot of close games is much more interesting than blowouts. This is something that should be easy to fix and I think will make casual more interesting.

Back before the DPC and custom slots you didn't need to spend all that much time gameplanning. It was pretty much just basic tactics on steroids.
