You seem to be accepting the fact that GLB users are intelligent enough to sort their own suggestions into categories. You would be wrong. The fact that joke suggestions, NGTH suggestions, and other wastes of time are here prove that GLB users on average don't care enough to in fact figure out what category would be appropriate. You would just end up with 4 or 5 sub-forums looking the same as here. More chaos spread over a larger area.

Now you might believe an option would be have Mods do the categorizing. Again, you would be wrong, with a few exceptions like JC, Chys, Big, and Doobas, most of them don't do what little responsibilities they do hold unless they have a personal grudge against a person.

The fact is.. with the exception of the semi-weekly moments when Yello comes off his medication, most good ideas stay towards the first few pages. If you are constantly searching for your idea past page 2 and constantly self-bumping then I suggest you look at the possible reasons..

1. Your idea sucks. Pay attention to this reason Treeboy.
2. Your idea is old and dated. Maybe in Voting limbo already.
3. Your idea was good and garnished all the support it can get. Face it, Bort doesn't care.

So, I reiterate, I like things as they are.

I would love to see Suggestions set up like Bugs.

Hatch and Myd. My two suggestions currently on the board are this one. And the first unread post button suggestion that you both like. We all know that if you have a suggestion that everyone likes it dies because people don't go in there telling you how dumb it is. Why do you think this suggestion is above the first unread post button. Suggestion? Is it because its better? No(not saying this one is bad), its because everyone agrees with the first unread post button so there is no drama created by you guys who think you run this forum. That is the biggest problem about this board. You don't let bad ideas die. You comment instead keeping g them at the top, which makes the good ideas die. Take this one for example. If you didn't like it and wanted it gone you shouldn't have posted in it in the first place( but then no one would hear my meaningless opinion and that validates my I ternet experience). Even posting -1s keeps it at the top. You know how fast a yello1 suggestion would drop if you didn't feel compelled by your epeen to tell him hes wrong and stupid? Very fast.

This board used to be very diplomatic. People worked together to make suggestions better. Ask jc she and I worked on a few together on more than one occasion. They are now in the epic sub forum. And I realize this suggestion wouldn't make your Internet bullying easier, but it would make the suggestions board easier for mode and admins. Since there opinions are the only important ones when it comes to who reads them. If they like it it will go to a vote. Then your opinion can be heard.

Its people like you who have ruined the diplomatic part of the board, with the mind set of you being a regular so you feel your opinion carries more weight.

How is someone trying to discuss a suggestion bullying? seriously you speak about my epeen and all that BS and none of it is relavent to me actually trying to add to the discussion. you were the one that got your panties in a bunch and called everyone out that didn't like your suggestion. just like Yello1 you can't handle that people didn't agree with your idea. and you feel the need to try to start drama. I thought the whole idea of suggestions was to have open discussions about the Pros and Cons of different suggestions. in hopes of actually finding a idea that would make suggestions work for the entire site.

And before you try to call someone out like you know their intentions you maybe should know the person to some extent. I have no intention of trying to bully anyone. on the contrary I do a ton to try to help anyone that I can on this game or in real life. you refer to mine and Yello1's banter yet you know nothing of the history or how he and I have spoken more than a few times through PMs trying to help make a decent suggestion better. seriously happy you need to get out of the mindset that because someone doesn't agree with you that they are trying to bully you or belittle you.

So Twiggy, you want to throw ideas out there without the possibility of criticism. That alone defies any understanding you have of diplomacy.

Would have left it alone with just a -1 if your cohort didn't call people out for giving a -1 without a reason behind it. As such, several reasons were given. And as such, you get defensive.

The problem with remaining silent on bad ideas is that without criticism, they stand the possibility of causing damage and problems if implemented. The advantage of criticizing bad ideas is that it give you a chance to not only look at them from the view of another person but also fine tune them.

My opinion, and Hatch's for that matter, don't carry any more weight than any other opinion. We are vocal because we don't want to see the game deteriorate anymore than it is. Sorry. If you are going to throw bad ideas (in our opinion) out there, we aren't going to remain silent just to avoid hurting your feelings. If you want to claim you want a democratic process, then let people criticize your ideas. Simple enough. And if you want to claim that the Mod's and Admin's opinions are the only ones that matter, why post here? Feel free to fill Catch's inbox. See where that gets you.

Myd: this is the suggestions forum. This is where you go to make suggestions. Not catches inbox. There is no problem with remaining silent. Did you miss the part where this shit gets voted on? That is where your opinion gets heard. So why do you care if it gets that far? You can just vote no on it.

Hatch: giving ideas -1s and nothing else is not constructive. The fact that you think my feelings are hurt by disagreement, or that I cant handle it is funny to me. You guys act like I don't read this board and see that you, myd, and a few others are regulars in this forum posturing yourselves as if you own the place. If I wasn't on my tablet I'd link multiple instances of just that.

So what, other than your meaningless opinions do you contribute? I'm sorry this suggestion might only slightly inconvenience your ability to constantly bully yello1, but then again this suggestion wasn't made specifically for your guys, it was made to help streamline the process for the mods and admins.

Now, back on track. these are some of the sub forum categories I think would be good for this board.

Sim related suggestions.

Stat related suggestions.

Site related suggestions.

Dot related suggestions(sa's, va's, training, etc, etc).

Support related suggestions.

Team related suggestions(new gm roles, buying teams, etc, etc).

League related suggestions(competitiveness, demotion, playoffs, etc, etc,)

If people don't really know where to put their suggestion you'd still have the main forum. That way a mod or admin could move it to where it needs to go, this board can be managed much in the same manner as the bugs forum. This would streamline the process for the mods and admins so that they don't have page after page to sift through.

Well, I just got done working nearly a 16 hour shift, so I'm checking in.

Hatch, Greywolf, and Myd I have agreed with on different topics. That's partly why I wanted to know their reasoning. I could get into a whole debate over Myd's response, but he and I both know it would be a waste of time. I can see some of Hatch's points, though it doesn't change my mind. That's why I like to hear others' explanations really: sometimes they will bring up points which will change my mind....or even cause me to pay more attention to something I overlooked. That's all. So I appreciate that all three took the time to respond even if I don't share the same view.

I personally like organization. We all have to deal with a few lunkheads on here. I don't see that as a real reason to abandon efficiency though. Hell, my best friend is a lunkhead. He left GLB over some of the reasons I've seen stated in other threads about playing time and non-boosting. I disagree with him, and have explained the site better to him, but he won't come back....because he wanted to play for free. Whatever. I think he's wrong. We agree to disagree, and let it go after that. Same with these three. They do bring up some good points in other threads, and those points do allow me to learn more about GLB. I can deal with it.

You're right, we should have more dead forums and sub forums.
