No I wasn't talking about losing playoff teams at all. I am saying if you do not get in the playoffs. If you want to play games that mean something, win and get in the playoffs.

I gotcha. When you said win or go home I thought that you meant the losers in the playoffs would play consolation games.

I kind of like this idea if nothing is won. It would make the post season more interesting for the not so good teams. It really wouldn't change anything other than that so I can only see the upside to it. It would just rearrange to post season scrims to something structured for 9-16.

If I miss the playoffs I want to keep competing to try to get better.

Sure. the first teams to lose in the tournament get demoted, and the best teams in the tournament stay in the conference.

How are you going to demote teams when all the lower leagues are set-up according to age of the Dots? This may have been covered already in the thread and I may have overlooked it.

I just think this promote/demote only apply to Nas Pro/Reg Pro....
In lower league, maybe demote mean elite down to competitive, competitive down to non-competitive?

And it's really need to limit only elite team could promote to Nas Pro, whether how good you are.

I wouldn't mind seeing a consolation tournament be the way for all conferences to determine the promotions and demotions, and for the lower leagues, just not as much demotions as there would be for the higher tier leagues.

I don't like consoling like this a tiny bit.

I wouldn't mind seeing a consolation tournament be the way for all conferences to determine the promotions and demotions, and for the lower leagues, just not as much demotions as there would be for the higher tier leagues.

you would still run into problems with teams sand bagging in those tournies to get into a cup cake league so they would get a cheap trophy. I like the idea of having tournies or something for the teams that do not make the playoffs. but to tie any type of promotion or demotion to it wouldn't be wise IMO simply because people would sandbag to get into easier leagues. I also do not think that there should be any trophies tied to those tournies.

so with that said I will say -1 to the suggestion unless someone can come up with a way to make it so that teams can't sandbag and take advantage of the situation to get themselves a cheap trophy in a weaker league.
