at that time, you could have retired and started over or kept him

I remember reading that awhile and see anything about xp stopping after reaching level 76 before plateau...and I still don't. I thought i would continue to gain xp after level 76, just not enough to take me to level 77. I then planned on using the 999 xp to convert to training tokens and eventually BT's.

Q: I heard that in this new system I will be able to reach level 80 and get level 80 EQ. Is this true?

A: No, it is not. We are implementing a hard level cap of level 79. Once you have reached level 79 or 281 days in age, you will no longer be eligible for any XP or boosts.

this mentions once you reach the hard cap, you get no more XP, but I agree it isn't very clear backtracking it to the previous caps

I've started another thread on this topic before reading this.

Someone, ANYONE, tell me how this (below) explains to me when my players will stop getting XPs. Also what does this mean? "Once you have have hit a cap" (bolded below).

From the Wiki and Catch22:

While conducting testing of potential player builds, we found that the new growth rate of Accelerated Player Development led to players reaching higher levels and that there was the possibility of reaching higher levels with a limited amount of boosts. Because of this, we are making an additional adjustment to make boosting more worthwhile for our valued paying customers. What we will be doing is implementing a rolling maximum level cap based upon the number of times a player has boosted. Once you have have hit a cap you will stop earning XP and the ability to level up any further. The maximum number of boosts possible under the new system is 30 - boost upon creation, boost each of the player's first 7 seasons, boost at pre-season of player's 8th season, and plateau boosts once a player reaches 281 days of age. The level caps are based off of this maximum and are as follows:

30 boosts - Level 79
29 boosts - Level 78
28 boosts - Level 77
27 boosts - Level 76
26 boosts - Level 75
25 boosts - Level 74
24 boosts - Level 73
23 boosts - Level 72
22 boosts - Level 71
21 boosts - Level 70
20 boosts - Level 69
19 boosts - Level 68
18 boosts - Level 67
17 boosts - Level 66
16 boosts - Level 65
15 boosts - Level 64
14 boosts - Level 63
13 boosts - Level 62
12 boosts - Level 61
11 boosts and under - Level 60

I'm guessing that the OP's dot had only boosted 27 times to this point, so xp stopped when he hit 76: "27 boosts - Level 76" It kind of sucks, but in the future all dots will end on 0 xp and therefore have nothing to trade in.

So are you saying that Xps will end at the 27th boost, or level 76?

If you boost every season including to level 4 before your first season, your 27th boost will be when you reach level 76 and XP stops because of the cap. your 28, 29 and 30 boost will be in plateau. There seems to be no way to continue to receive XP after your 27th boost which does not seem to reward boosters like the announcement says. It seems to punish boosters because you can't get to level 77 or higher by gaining XP.

Maybe that is how it was intended to work though.

OK but what about this. I've added examples below. Is this because I waited a week to boost?

Examples:

Cement Shoes FB (level 79) 284 days old
30 Boosts x 1000 = 30000

Total: 78015 (15)
stopped getting XP: 2012-05-29 00:11:44

Mega Muffins (level 79) 284 days old

30 Boosts x 1000 = 30000

Total: 78060 (0)
stopped getting XP: 2012-05-22 15:00:06

I think back when those dots were created, XP will still variable so either they did not level up to 76 on the same day or maybe you did not boost them throughout their career on the same day. I am not exactly sure though.

What are the numbers in (?) ????

might need to change this on the players boost page:

Player Level Up
You can level up a player up to 3 times in one season. The price per level is the same as the price to create a player of that position. A player may only be boosted every season while he is younger than 280 days old. Once a player reaches 281 days old, he is eligible for 3 additional boosts at any time during his plateau.

Boosting a player will also extend his lifespan by 10 days for every boost used during his career! Boosting will maximize your player's career span.

Why is everyone looking at the wrong place ?

You are looking at the announcement of the cap, that's not where you should be looking. You should, instead, be looking at the table of experience gains per day and per game.

If you were looking in the proper place, you'd understand that this has been known since a year ago.

Because the cap is the reason that XP stops, not the XP gains per day per game. Without the implementation of the cap, XP would continue for every player until day 281, regardless of level / # of boosts.

do players built before the APD get :

lvl79
6 plateau boost

whichever comes first.

Is this not the case? If not, when did that change?

Is it ? Then don't go and check, I mean, if you're so sure.

yeah, I am not so sure about that. I had players with more than 30 boost and still getting XP..matter of fact I remember wishing they would stop getting XP the day or 2 before they hit 281 so they would not level up and leave me with 900+ xp for trade in. They still got XP (and this was after APD implementation)
