That's how the system is set up.

You either use a PayPal account, or, use your credit card and "set up a PayPal account later."

I have one credit card and that's it. I used the same credit card with my paypal and when I chose "set up account later" evidently paypal is looking at my card, sees that it was used by evil me who refuses to give paypal my bank account # and rejects me.

Since I have been playing GLB since season 2, I am a member of this community and part of the greater WE. So, my problem is OUR problem. I am not bitching at Bort as you would like to frame this. I want to continue to participate in GLB, however, I cannot do so without a PayPal account. If an alternative payment is offered, I can continue. If Paypal is my only option, this not only affects my participation, but eventually EVERYONE'S participation.

If you want to give your bank account unnecessarily to a third party, I'm fine with that; be my guest. However, I see no reason for PayPal to have any information regarding my personal banking activities, and consider it to be unnecessarily invasive.

I've actually wondered why paypal is the only payment option (I personally dislike using paypal for a number of different reasons some related to morales and ethics and others by the fact that I've worked for paypal before and know how the dirty laundry gets cleaned).

I do not believe paypal should be removed but I do wonder why they do not add support for amazon checkout and google checkout (both of which offer the same profit margins as paypal if not better to the business) and both of which are extremely easy to integrate and do not have to concern glb with any of the PCI compliance stuff as well.

Also, I do not have a paypal account yet I do make all my GLB flex purchases using credit cards and as a fallback, there is the option of mailing in a check though I do suppose you will miss out on any of the Black Friday specials as a result if you do that.

One thing people often forget is that PayPal is not a bank and are not under the same regulations that other financial institutions are. You are doing well by not sharing your banking information with them. And they have happily taken money away from people because of this loophole though none through the linking of the personal bank account that I have been witness to or heard of probably because it becomes a federal crime at that point.

I used to use PayPal a lot, but I reached my spending limit of $5000, and PayPal wanted me to verify my account by giving them my bank account #.

I didn't want to give them my bank account number, so now I can't use my credit card to buy flex points since my credit card is linked to my PayPal account.

In a nutshell, if this isn't corrected, i.e., if I can't buy flex points by means other than through PayPal, it is the end of my association with goallineblitz, as my players cannot remain competitive without boosting.

Can this please be fixed?

This takes like 3 days why didn't you do it when they first made the account Hoenstly, paying with anything other than cash is a risk. People can find ways to get your number, paypal is a secure site and if they were really stealing from people on a large scale, no one would use the site in the first place.

I've given examples of CitiGroup and Bank of America being hacked. You honestly think PayPal hasn't been targeted and is not at risk?

To answer your original question, "why didn't you do it when they first made the account," in the beginning PayPal didn't request verification, i.e., one's bank account. All that was requested was a credit card.

You dont have to use your paypal account to use a credit card. You can just use your credit card. They will say are you sure you dont want to sign in and you say yes.

At least this is how it was, I havent used anything but my account in the last 2 years.

Paypal is my virtual terminal for our websites. I have around 30k transactions a week go in and out of paypal and into various bank accounts.

With THAT being said I had a lady at work who got her paypal hacked and they spent around 3k of her money through her bank account. They did give it back but it took around 3 weeks.

EDIT: I really dont see why they dont have a terminal on here though. They have to pay paypal fees anyway so they might as well just use a virtual terminal so you dont even have to leave the site.

Open a free checking/savings account. Deposit one dollar. Give paypal this account information. Problem solved.

This pisses me off as well.

I think it resets itself at some point though.

Paypal hit me with that and I ignored them. Next time I went back they didn't care and took my payments.

How much time passed between the two I am not sure.

Hate to be the party pooper but I too had PayPal issues and now no longer use them. However... I DO use a credit card and I've seen the "set up PayPal account later"... I just choose not to every time and have no issues buying flex. There's really no need to use PayPal as you can use Credit, Debit, or Pre-Paid without ever having to sign with PayPal.
