When are you people going to figure this out.

If their options were take the promotion you and everyone else is supposed to take or demote to rookie they could gut but their dots would enter the free agency market. Or be retired. Either way treating everyone the same rather than making exceptions would be the better route. Having a cry baby team gut is preferable to allowing them to scam the system.

bort needs to stop caring what the ones that game the system think. does any one actually enjoy paying for teams that play half to 3/4 of their games as blowouts? even the elite leagues are filled with teams that dont belong there. bort answered this in the most recent Q&A, and tbh, his answer was pretty weak. the biggest worry about sorting teams into the right leagues is that many teams will game the system and not sign their players until they are placed in a lower league.

there's no reason to put teams into leagues on day 41, not since age based leagues came about. so day 41, put all the teams into the appropriate age "cloud". teams recruit for the rest of the off season. then on day -9, teams get sorted with a simple formula:
(high EL + median EL + average EL + lowest EL) / 4 this is your base EL
take the base EL and multiple it by the number of humans on the team then divide by 55 giving you your sort EL

now put the teams in order of the sort EL, top 32 go into league 1, next 32 into league 2, etc. now to stop the teams from signing all their studs at that point, each league will not only be given an age abut an EL limit. the EL limit can be set to the max team in the league, so if your studs are too high, they cant sign with you at the lower leagues. this encourages teams and players to get onto their teams during the off season if you want to make sure that you can be on that team. league #1 would have no EL limit, so all the best players will be forced into the top lagues once the preseason hits.

another way to push teams into appropriate leagues is to only give out trophies and count stats from the top 2 or 3 leagues for each age group. no more level 79s building huge stats against level 50s.

we'll never have competitive leagues as long as the stat whores dictate how leagues are set up.

I don't think they are scamming the system. They are giving up and leaving in large numbers. They're gone.

+1

This is pretty retarded that in season 29 we still dont have a solution that makes the game unfun for alot of people PAYING to play the game. I would never want to be in a league where we blowout everyone but yet I have had this happen many times since I started playing this many years ago.

fix it.

Well finally someone sounds like they have a solution!! Give this guy a job cause sounds like Guppy is smarter than everyone currently over that area of GLB.

i have seen many good ideas on how to do a 2nd team sort to get more competitive leagues. is there a link to a quote telling why glb is against this? i just saw an elite league where 12 of the 16 games were shutouts, and only a few of those were "close".

A second sort wouldn't solve any issues with teams being unfilled before the season starts or teams moving players around, etc. They could do it after the sort. Also, we have tended to get complaints if we move teams around too much too late, since competition changes who you might try to sign, etc.

btw, the league i referenced in my question averaged over 10 shutouts per week.

so my idea solves the unfilled teams as they would float to the bottom, and it would be hard for them to sign players the lower they go. And teams would be more likely to fill their team with similar levels as signing too high of players, say 70s on a team mostly of 50s, would push you higher than you would have been otherwise.

and if we wanted to make it a little less likely that the bottom teams in each league would get trampled, any big gaps between teams could define the break between leagues, fill that upper league with the CPU owned teams that could not be purchased in season. This would only happen if only a few CPU teams would be needed to fill that league. I think most people could handle 2 or 3 CPU games per season.

the biggest stumbling block i see would be the natpro vs regpro divide. But even then, if teams have their natpro selection made, that could be part of the sort at that level. If teams overfilled one natpro league, then too bad, the bottom teams risk being moved to a secondary choice, or a random choice. otherwise, we all know that in glb, most of the teams would pick USA just so that they might get to stay in the lower regpro leagues.

is it a perfect system, nope, but it is way more fair and balanced than what we currently have. no more pissing off 15 teams so that 1 team can stat whore.
