This team lost in the CCG in a division where there was only 1 other good team (i.e. the rest were 100 or 200 point blowouts), they currently have 17 players on the roster, they have never won a trophy at any level, and they are now in USA Pro

This is a good reason to condense the Pro leagues.
These teams didn't earn promotion and as a result, they're not ready to compete at the top. (Not dissing on Coal Region btw) It's not their fault they got prematurely promoted. However, this just magnifies the fact that Pro is watered down in the lower rungs.
We should take perhaps the Top 12 from each region and reduce the Pro leagues from 8 to 6. In this way, the top 10 finishers in each WL conference would stay as well. 9 and 10 seeds are typically very solid in WL.
The top several teams in each conference are worthy pro teams no question, it just the last few that really raise some eyebrows. Some pro leagues are not as tough to win as others and this would help to make that more even across the spectrum as well.
Finally, it would make Regional Pro stronger as well, rather than seeing teams have 5-7 255-0 games...no excuse for more than maybe one of those IMO

On the NGTH list.

i think if they condense the pro leagues that will just end up condensing the user base more imho.

Userbase has shrunk, and there are clearly less high level dots now then there once were. Leaving 8 natty pro leagues is equal to being in denial of this fact.

I don't know how having more competitive leagues in your mind would water down the userbase. This game isn't nube friendly and increasingly current players get fed up with the game (or tired of it), to go along with no real marketing/advertising, what do you expect?

Honestly I'd prefer 4 natty pro leagues, but I can work with 6. And don't get me wrong the competition among the top especially in this league is better than its been since maybe s13-14ish, but the bottom is as bad as ever imo and regional pro is a retarded joke.

well, my opinion ... my comes from being an owner/recruiter/coordinator/etc of independent teams (for a long time) ... and just knowing (or feeling) that there are many agents that would quit (more so than has left already) if they felt the pro league was monopolized by network and certain groups of users. I recently ran two independent national pro teams (one here and one north of the border) that were competitive ... i argued in fact to get one of my teams to "play up in the past in reg pro elite and national pro ... and they did fine those seasons.

There are plenty of teams hiding in reg pro with pro rosters trying to get cheap trophies (or there next crew of replacements for their "networks"). So, talent is available ... some looking for cheap trophies while some other teams maybe got promoted too fast or shouldn't have been promoted (not their fault)

Cheese, I agree with nearly everything you are saying.

But the Regional Pro ladder is fucked up. The teams promote laterally.. So a RP#10 team that is beastly who won a title, moves to RPE#1 or RPE#2 instead of Pro most of the time, unless they request Pro leagues..

yep. i agree.

good rosters that aren't hiding can always message support to move up or try to arrange a swap with a gutted/cpu/or team having trouble recruiting nat pro team. I moved up (played up) twice doing that to reg pro elite and nat pro.

that is why I say some teams are "hiding" or build up some cheap street cred. I can understand a somewhat powered regional pro roster if they have really bad chemistry.

I don't call it cheap though at the same time. Some teams do that to gain credibility and some leverage in recruiting. When you are looking at teams for your FA's do you investigate the Gold Trophies that they have on their shelf? Nope, you just count them and factor it in to your decision. People look at a team that went 9-7 against equal competition with a first round playoff loss as a bad team, and a 20-0 team with a gold gif who played shit teams as someone they'd want to play for.

It is what it is.
