A lot of long passes into double and triple coverage. I've seen this a lot on teams that weren't trailing, they play long catch the whole game playing the odds hoping for catches against good coverage. IMHO, that is the issue, not the VA stacks, otherwise it seems I'd of seen more nutty comebacks, not just the occasional one someone posts in the forums.

While it is the case that many passes are caught in coverages regardless, comeback kid and clock manager are things you literally can't gameplan around. It is a standard practice set for most pro teams (at least cbk for sure) to have and it throws gameplans out the window. And if you aren't seeing the nutty comebacks you clearly aren't watching the well built teams in games in which they are behind.

its dumb. it's beyond dumb.

Yes, trying to pass in the fourth quarter with the game well in hand instead of running out the clock is quite dumb. Hard to believe this was a USA Pro championship game.

Yep. Every team I have ever been a part of at the Pro/WL level has at least two WRs who are their force the ball late guys who are guaranteed to bring it in regardless of coverage late in games. My own WR once won WL receiving gold trophy because of it. It is a stupid set up that is unnecessary and counter-intuitive.

I am sure that would have worked much better. Probably should have just used the kneel down technique like Nashville to show how effective the running game can be.

That is just the thing...Clock Manager and Comeback Kid are unnecessary and it makes an already handicapped pass defense code even shittier when guys are going up against an addition 15% Catch ball/Pass Qual from CM and 30% Catch Ball on deep balls from CBK. There are enough bonus's in the game to keep the end of games interesting if good plans were involved.

Yeah, I have lost count of the games the OTM have lost in the last 20, 15, 1 minute of a frakking game where a team we had on the ropes all game long suddenly roars up and down the field like we weren't even there.

Very frustrating.

LOL, not watching well build teams huh. You say the most oddball stuff sometimes.

It's easy to gameplan around a lead, it's called ball control. I watched that link, they did run a lot on first, but didn't commit to ground & pound. Not to mention, there's a point at which those comeback style VAs stop granting their bonus, yea it's a small window, but it's there. And, we don't know the builds of the Dots playing, so who's to say the team that lost is even build right.

The end of game VAs make balancing the pass game impossible. With them teams become completely OP'd in the final few minutes of a game which means that they under perform the rest of the game. If you remove them then you can balance the game throughout.

Your teams lose before the coin toss.

The team that lost is one of the top built teams in the game. And I know all the builds on esl and many of the ones on the shockers. You may not know what well built teams look like but im a part of most of them in some way or another.

And to say they are easy to gameplan around clearly shows you have no idea what you are talking about.
