This is probably the easier solution.

better add STOP QBs since tebow is practicing with the punt team.

The problem with that replay is they didn't chase him down, he ran into them. Had the Great Wall of China set up to his right.

How many lineman are used on Kick off teams or even punt teams for that matter compared to players that are not lineman. The number is very very small. if hardly any.

The core 5 are always O-lineman, they have to be because they need to block and protect the most vulnerable point of attack - straight up the middle. Only exception is the long-snapper who is protected by the up-man.

The question is why do you have a 2 LB's and a receiving TE in the trenches trying to delay their release? Those guys couldn't block a dyslexic drug addict from crossing the street - free release.

When 2 objects are running straight at each other - speed is irrelevant - they are gonna collide.

-1 to OP the game is set-up the same for all of us so instead of everyone always crying wanting stuff nerfed or capped. you should learn to build players better to counter those builds.

No its a BS mistake in the game. Sorry Big guys should not be able to get their speed anywhere near the same as skilled positions. And I know why people are opposed to this. Because Lineman cost 100 flex. so they can make alot of ST players out of them. That just isnt logical.

umm big guys r faster and more athletic than u think man,

A 270 lb O-lineman is pretty much a TE in todays game. They certainly aren't "fat-asses".

That said, I'm not sure a 100 flex specialist is a great idea (beyond the K/P) in a sim where 300 flex specialists are struggling.

Saw a local cop the other day... seemed like a nice young fella... probably weighed around 280... with about 80 pounds of that held in by a belt around his waist. I seriously wanted to sneak up behind him and give him a wedgie, then jog away and watch him give chase... for as long as he could. And I'm at LEAST twice his age!

On a more serious note, lots of NFL big men are QUICK... deadly for short sprints, But to watch one try to run 100 yards is hilarious. About 40 yards into the run they look like a beached whale desperately seeking water (and air). I'll give you that, perhaps, speed ISN'T the issue... but if you want your 300 pound lineman to play ST's, then a bigger appropriation of his energy should be swallowed up than it seems to be. Seriously... count the 30 yards they run down the field to meet their opponent, then the 30-50 yards they run after such a meeting to chase down said opponent, I guarantee you 90% of those "biggies" would be out of gas long before the play was over... and long after as well.
-1 to the OP but something needs balanced better.

-1 Watch Jason Pierre Paul play and tell me again how D-linemen aren't able to run down a play downfield.

I know them all and most of them are QUICK... ever fast over short distances. But to send them on 100 yard dashes... repeatedly... and they'll be toast right quick. Which is why you DON'T see them playing ST's regularly. Still, today's "big men" are much more agile and quick than those of years past (Fridge Perry ain't no distance runner) AND there are more of them. But, it's moot as nobody here is voting many +1's.

if u gave more examples other than a returner running into lineman id b more apt for it but i cant

So the point is. There needs to be caps on certain attributes so that fat asses do not have the same speed as skilled positions. Its just doesnt make sense.

Well, this has always been the case because you need players on special teams but nobody really wants to spend 200+ flex on a player running up & down the field. I agree in theory, but the solution is likely to get rid of STOP builds or put roster caps in place for human players, and the rest is filled with CPU dots (which would likely tend to be the majority of special teams).

But the thing that strikes me as interesting (sorry for the threadjack in advance) is a different type of "cap". Instead of the attribute caps we have today, I would think it would be more interesting to make weight/height ratio be the determining factor for the skill point caps.

So if your weight is 300 lbs, your 1-SP cap on speed might start at 40 instead of 48. 2-SP might be 48, etc. So you'd actually need to select height/weight more appropriate for what you intend the player to do.
