I can just see the amount of rages from the AA jumping the gun on dropping or raising the output % early in a game only to have the play fail/be pulled from then on (not to mention triggering the Repeat Penalty).

no, AA is a great tool when used with good scouting. its not supposed to replace scouting. anyone who would dump a play after 1 play either didnt scout very well, or is an idiot for putting the play in there to begin with. other than needing to let the coordinator decide what is successful or not, AA works pretty well if you have half a brain and use it right. another thing that would be useful, but i dont know how hard it would be, is for dropped passes by wide open guys not to be counted as failure. there will always be anomalies because of the RNG, and we can probably all admit that at times, the RNG isnt very random, but that's not AA's fault.

The very point of the idea is to take the RNG out of the equation precisely because its soooo frakking buggy.

There are more subtle ways to do it, but I thought this would be a short to the point way to tack a solution on to the existing system.

Definitely extreme, hence the name. Not going to be the preferred choice often. But if used with packages built to suit the option it could be useful.

As for the "Scout" stuff, scouting is all well and good but the reality is that the other team is making changes too and sometimes that great scouting report winds up being useless and even counter productive. Having AA effectively remove your well scouted yet erroneous play from the mix when it falters should be what AA is all about. However all too often it does not do that well enough and the error is repeated over and over, something that does not generally happen in a real game and that it does happen in GLB ruins the "sim" and player enjoyment.

and that is what most of these suggestions are about. instead of doing the work to improve a team under the current system. some people want stuff implemented that they feel will give their crappy teams some sort of edge to help them actually compete.

Opposition is in 2 parts. One part is that it is a yello suggestion which invariably means that several users are going to -1 automatically because he suggested it, I call it the Boltz effect of posting too many bad suggestions.

The second part is that there is already a much more cogent, well thought out and well received suggestion at the top of page 1 that would get the result he's looking for but because he can't help but post 20 suggestions a week he ignored it, which ties back into #1.

I'm not exactly sure what is wanted here but I'm guessing it's something I've seen for quite a while back when I scouted games and even DC'd a bit. If you create a "playbook" for a game then spend hours setting up the AI for it, one of the things I'd REALLY want the AI to do well is recognize when a play is not working. (Example; you have "pitch right" at about 10% on second and long... but it's getting hammered for losses of yards every time it's used in THAT GAME. The AI should realize this [hopefully at halftime... and ESPECIALLY by the start of the 3rd quarter!] and stop using that play, switching to something else (preferably a play that HAS worked for that particular down/distance). I mean... that's what a Coach would do, if they could, during the game. And it's what we ASK the AI to do since we cannot "coach live" in games. If that is basically what is being pushed here, then I agree that it does seem to be something that doesn't happen quite as it should... or that it was designed to do.
I don't think killing the AA or whatever is the answer though.

Secondly the other idea IS a good one, and I believe I +1'd it rather than ignored it. However the second sentence you seem to have missed which is "This would have no bearing on how much of an adjustment would occur based on the auto adjust settings, just allow for customizable yard increments to trigger the adjustments."

This idea is not about what success or failure is in a play, the AA trigger. This idea is about another auto adjust setting that is used based upon the success or failure triggers.
