Well to answer the question why would you want to get rid of them, is in fact the reason the minors are unwatchable according to the ALG haters. Everyone builds to maximize the ALG gains and without them everyone would just randomly put points into whatever sounds good, a point in STR here, a point in STA there, two points in Vision here because we don't have to max ALGs.

you would still use SP to cap off attributes and run primaries up while training the lower attributes
a big -1, but there's really no chance it will happen anyway so no point in wasting time on it

Maybe just do this in casual. Make so people have to spend almost all their SP so that every game from day one is an actual game.

not really. You're still going to cap then train an attribute.
training right after a cap is worth a lot more then training right before a cap. People would cap an attribute, then train it around again, just like we do now. So people wouldn't be building any different, just builds would be a lot more similar as there would be almost no strategy.

If anything we need more ALG's, like some form of ALG on SA's (maybe one tree increases 1 point every 18 levels) .

ALGs is the killer for newbies. I personally understand the system (at least on my newer dots), so it's not just me. It's for the betterment of the game. New players have no clue what the fuck an ALG is for a good amount of time, and have no clue of the nuances of proper building until they are seasons and seasons into the game.
Look at all other successful MMOs. Do you need to spend over 3 months (approx. 2 GLB seasons) learning how to play World of Warcraft, or Starcraft, or Skyrim? The answer is NO! And GLB should be no different if it wishes to move forward and began to once more expand rather than contract as it is at the moment.

This is just not true at all. I would definitely not 7-cap speed before capping any other attribute, like you pretty much are forced to do now with speed HBs, WRs, DBs, even some LBs, TEs, and FBs. Some of the stuff may be similar to the ALG system but we would see much, much, much, much more rounded builds in the lower levels that will STILL BE EFFECTIVE later on!! That will be the key to making the game more fun at the lower levels before Pro/WL, without making end builds suffer!

how many times do we have to repeatedly beat to death why removing ALGs wouldn't make a magic fix.

You're right, it wouldn't be a magic fix. But it'd be a step towards a solution.
