Dunno exactly the best way to phrase it, but this play here is an example of what needs to be fixed. Note the ROLB. He is out on the edge of the line, precisely to guard against off tackle runs.

Yet as soon as the ball is hiked he rushes to the middle of the line, leaving his assigned position open and accomplishing nothing.

And the runner dashes right through where he was for a big gain.

Infuriating. And it happens constantly (just a play or two before this one same thing on the right side).

How far out or back do you have to have a defender before he contains the frakking run instead of dog piling like a moran?

I would suggest a slider that delays how quickly the tackler decides where to intercept the runner. the better to guage where the runner is actually going. The further to delay the longer the wait, the further the other way the quicker the initiation of pursuit movement. The up and downsides are self apparent.

What ya think?

Might have been a missed vision check, I suppose. Thought it was an inside run. I could see that. But it happens alot and I favor high vision in my dots and look for it in free agents. So if thats what it is the check needs to be made easier.

sad thing is you want everything made easier on this game for you. most of your suggestions are in some way shape or form trying to get GLB to give you some way to bridge the gap between good teams and your teams.

Only in your deluded view of reality.

My ideas are all to make the game better, either making it functional with a user friendly UI, or making it more interesting with more features, and making it more reliable with the system designed to allow the player to actually control his dots actions not the vagaries of an obscure secret bug ridden spaghetti pile of jumbled code.

I think that the offense called HB Slam Weak (ok ok ok, I know that for a fact) and the LB moved to the inside as you would want him to (perusing the ball carrier, ldo), in order to provide backup for the D-Line. The HB saw that, and cut off tackle for a gain.

If your suggestion were to be implemented, then you'd be back here suggesting that the defensive dots need to react faster to the moves of the ball carrier in order to not be just standing around watching the HB run by them.


So I'm -1 with this suggestion.

Hmm, yeah I guess thats true as to the play.

As to the latter though, no. I would just slide my slider more to faster reaction.

Thats the gem of having more control in players hands. They know whats going on and can make changes. Its more fun and it allows an outlet for frustration.

As is, no idea what I can do to prevent that play from going that way. LB couldnt be expected to be more agile or have much more vision.

I suggested something similar to this about 10 seasons ago. Over pursuit is part of the game, but there should be the option to delay pursuit a bit ever since the Counter plays came out.

Not sure if a better Vision roll or something else is needed.

But you see thats the gem of my idea.

Over pursuit can still be a part of the game, but it puts that choice more in the hands of the dot owner and less in the hands of the buggy RNGenerator.
