Relatively stable VAs give the players personality (e.g. "He's a clutch player") and work against exploits like gathering Heart of a Champion late in the season for the playoffs and then resetting it out. One can still do that with the limited resets, but at the cost of resetting other things.

I really do not know who is more annoying in this forum you or Yello1. you both think your thoughts are the only right ones on the game. I usually agree that full VA resets shouldn't happen. but the way the sim changes each and every season then the players spending their money to build these players should have some way to try to counter or change with the sim.

with your thinking we could get someone to make a post on the NGTH list and have it say Ken1 can no longer post in Suggestions. would that mean that you would never post here again? No somethings on the NGTH list should be addressed in some small way to make it so that the players on the game have the ability to evolve with the game. instead of being passed by due to a ton of sim changes each and every season.

Stuff that's been addressed by Bort and rejected shouldn't be constantly recycled, and that's why there should be a NGTH list and any discussion of such items is ca-clicked.

If someone said I should post in Suggestions and Bort said "No, Ken1 can never again post to Suggestions," he owns the site, and the mods to do their job would have to ca-click any thread I started and blank any post I made. Of course, I wouldn't stay on the site then, and Bort would never do that (if he for some reason got that angry at me he'd just ban me from the site).

I did go a bit overboard with realism and builds. Unlike the game sim, the way players are built isn't and never will be close to realistic. But there's still a constant factor I think is best with builds, that someone can't morph into a different type of player in one season, and that players can't completely change their abilities for a new system. Players need an identity that they'll never have if there are commonly full VA resets-- and there are exploits available with them, as I pointed out, as well.

you are right to a extent and I agree with you on alot of what you said. but the thing is that Bort makes a ton of changes to the sim and that in itself will screw some players over pretty badly. basically lets use the pass rushing DE's for example. for a season or 2 the speed DE's were king so everyone and their momma made them. then boom Bort makes a change and the players are rendered basically useless. while a person can't change the build a full reset of VA's could help make that player useful again rather than being as usueless as tits on a boar hog. I am not saying the game needs full resets every season but when Bort screws certain archtypes or builds due to the sim changes then there should be someway that the build can be salvaged to some extent.

allowing resets as soon as changes are made would actually help the game instead of waiting 2 or 3 more seasons before the impact of the change can be fully evaluated., it would be better evaluated immediately.

Agreed. I tend to think unlimited resets during the preseason would help kick the tires on the new sim and give plenty of quality data for the admins to go over and address things that are clearly out of whack. The current set up just lends itself to GLB finding out on day 10 that the new flavor of the week VA set up is OP when they could have balanced things a lot easier in the preseason.

I can understand why some people want some stability and that isn't terrible but in a game with this many moving parts VA interactions aren't always immediately understood which has led to end of season nerfs and deletions of many VAs when they could have been addressed much more quickly with a little more testing which is precisely what allowing unlimited pre-season resets (or even just two or three times a preseason) would give us.

As to Ken1's nonsense about the NGTH list, if we took away every suggestion that was originally given the NGTH designation only to be added to the game later we would missing a lot of elements that currently exist in the game. NGTH really means things we don't want users discussing right now but we may flip-flop on later. Moreover, no one is asking for unlimited resets in this thread but rather resets through the preseason only. I'm sure he'll be more than happy to tell us why we are all wrong and he is right in great detail though, he is consistent if nothing else.

Put your handbags away, fellas.

I think that the VA reset we get every season is enough to change your player from season to season.

When new VAs are brought out, or existing ones are completely changed, like Ballhawk, I'm up for resetting. But I'm not up for resetting after a sim change makes an extreme build less successful.

Oh, just for record, I have quite a few O-line guys who could benefit from a reset.
