Okay this one was not as nutty as the one in the OP you all couldn't see. But watch as the CB comes back and runs straight into the LT, after being delayed by going around the WR2-3s and their Coverage. Would a defender really run right into the tackle like this????

Maybe its another case where my not having played serious football hinders my grasp of the game but this seems silly to me.

the game has a lot of plays where the defense is scripted to fail (like QB sweeps and basically every counter play among others) and it's the DC's job to figure out how to overcome the code.

not sure if that's a good design or not... but it's just how it is

I think your issue is not with the play, but rather with the fact that defenders will not avoid blocks.

that and the juke on the CB the WR had for some reason made him take a stupid angle for the tackle... gave the WR an extra 40 yards or so

so what is the suggestion exactly. What is causing the play to be broken? The play you linked (that I can see), only appears to have maybe 1 bug (the really bad angle by CB), which isn't related to the play.

base on the blocking that play should never work against man unless the defense sucks. i hate using the word never but ima stand by it on this particular play

i only agree with this because of the bolded. irl the off wouldnt block like that against man and if they did 1 of 4 things would happen

1. interception
2. TFL
3. deflected pass
4. incomplete pass

It's not just an issue with this play...

it's in a lot of plays.

and it's not just at high levels either, watch the SS and CB crash on this counter

The first one in the OP that you all cant see was 6 Dbs in double man cover on the wideouts.

the first replay is not bad except for the cb going over the top instead of going under and having a chance to disrupt the play like he should of.

the second replay base on the blocking should be a TFL or incomplete pass more times then not.

i dont expect much from low lvl dots so i wont comment on the third one. plus the def have ppl out of position so ima stay away from that one.

DBs run into the defenders for everyone. Whether they have other defenders closer to deal with it, or the offensive player is not speedy or agile enough to exploit the play does not change that goofy coverage code.

Well its that they do not avoid blocks and also how a dot in man coverage reacts to that inside movement in general. Pity you cant see the OP play. The FB in double cover practically ran to the QB to shake hands - while supposedly covering the WR1.

The fix is to improve the coverage pathing for these screen passes that move inside and to intelligently react to blocking from other offensive players while in man cover.

Now I can understand how that is a challenge. Until its one that Bort has time to fix, then this play and maybe a couple of the other WR screens (SB WR1 or WR3 one maybe, forget which ones) with similar issues should be pulled for exposing the man cover pathing weaknesses too much.

That has some logical appeal. But it misses the idea that the game is a simulation, we are supposed to have some illusion however thin that we are game planning for football. When the simulation is so bad that jarringly silly stuff happens as does with the man cover on this play set up, then that illusion is ruined so badly as to decrease the fun factor of the game.

everyone still has the same problem so it is fair for everyone.

If everyone is dealing witht he same exact thing then yes it is fair. some people use the play alot others hate it and won't use it at all. regardless everyone on the site that does any coordinating has the option to use the play. so from a biased perspective if everyone has the same options with the play then it is indeed fair for all. the funny thing is not that many good DC's or OCs complain about plays. they learn how to defend of utilize the plays and move on without asking GLB to fix something.
