+1. It's a tradeoff, and a realistic one. Good, realistic tradeoffs that can be made strategically are a good thing.
It should be a player tactic, so to change it from game to game you should have to communicate with your punter's agent.
Punt Out Of Bounds:
Always: Always try to angle the ball out of bounds to try to prevent a return.
Sometimes: Go for coffin corner punts when within range. Otherwise keep it in-bounds.
Never: Never try to punt out of bounds. (When a punter had this setting, he'd try a high-angle punt to try to force a fair catch and avoid the touchback when within coffin corner range).
