I actually like it, I play madden a lot on the ipod touch and it has the numbers by the players instead of names, and once you get used to the numbers for each position, it can be very helpful telling who is who, so you wouldn't have to hover over the dot in GLB

Sounds even better. Probably also want to add the ability to allow multi-season contract dots to retain the same number.

How is it a nightmare, when it would be defaulted to how it is now?

Again, this is an additional option... so maybe a daydream, but a nightmare is a bit over-dramatic for the ability to change it to view numbers instead of the defaulted positions.

+1 it would make numbers really mean something to those who choice to see them..

Seriously, it's not that big a deal, but I as an OC would love to be able to see the teams numbers as I watched games, it would let me know who is subbing in, who is subbing out, what defender is slow to react, etc.
