Back when I was recruiting and DCing, it was nearly impossible to get a decent dot to sign if you weren't a playoff team. I don't exactly know how I feel about the OP, but saying -1 because it gives non-playoff teams an advantage is just plain wrong.

I call total BS on this.

You must not have done much recruiting then.

Big problems.

So the teams not in the playoffs don't have to pay full salary, and get an early start on rebuilding chemistry...seems fair

No, my S1 team never required any recruiting.

read more than just the OP...there are ways to cover those issues.

The OP is where the suggestion is. If there are added items to the suggestion within the thread they should be added to the OP, otherwise you can't expect people to read through all the commentary to know everything discussed.

I agree with tautology's assessment and with other points made about.

Also the OP states that he would also like to be able to just release players if being able to sign was not approved- This would potentially also screw people out of XP since there is still daily XP to be gained in the 9 days of playoffs. Even though one time wouldn't likely permanently damage a player, it could cause issues in their build plan. In addition there is the issue of training.

If a player is cut on day 32 by a non playoff team and they have 0 training points, they will lose a couple days of training points if they cannot get back onto a team. 14 points is the max you can hold during the season i believe, unless something changed recently. If they were near a multi train day this could be even half the playoffs (assuming they had 6 at the time of the cut).

So -1. Everyone plays by the same set of conditions. The need for flex on day 40 is greatly reduced with the TP change for days 40-48 so people can make a player later if they want and suffer no penalty to the build. If a team wants to sign a player they can do it on day 42. So that argument is out the window. Make your arrangements to sign new players ahead of time. If you are worried that having current players on your team will scare away future signer's then stop hiring scary players.

agreed.

But for a gamewide suggestion we probably better also think of the impact for middle of road teams/players/agents as well.

-1 for the reasons taut listed. Non-playoff teams shouldn't receive any handouts for being inferior to playoff teams.
