Forum > Suggestions > fix it so that one blocker is not able to block two or more defenders at the same time

My suggestion for this awhile back was to designate, by position, the number of blockers they would be able to block.

In this way, you can set the WR's to 1 Block,
TE to 2 Blocks
Linemen to 3 blocks.

Etc. (Do defensive players too)

If you wanted you could also filter it based on the archetype.

Its not completely realistic (allowing linemen to block up to three players) but it makes sense in terms of the sim.

alt; base it on the blocking ability of the player, and make blocking have a bigger impact on blocking ability

Or we could just fix the pathing so that a defender sees a blocker and blockee in front of him and runs around.

Seems pretty legit when a nt can take on the center, right guard, right tackle, and blocking te and still come up with the sack.

Wriggling through or pushing through is realistic, peeps can do it.

But show me footage of defenders running from yards away right into the back of a blocked team mate and then humping his rear end like hes a dog in heat.

Then I will buy the current sim situation.

its realistic that 1 defender takes on 4 defenders of equal size and strength for an easy sack? lol...ok sure.

Well first off you didn't say easy.

Secondly 4 blockers really CANT block one defender, pure physics, the other guys cant get to him. No holding or arms out remember, so its got to be a body in front of him. So the best you would get is a double team realistically anyone else is out of that play and should be looking for someone else.

And yeah you see guys break double teams alot. Thats a matter of strength and agility and skills/moves. It shouldnt be easy, but it shouldnt be impossible or nearly so either.

And for the same reason one guy can not put his body in front of two defenders. Even the fattest lineman is only three feet across. One defender sure, but the other guy can just run around them.

And he would. If only the pathing would let him. And thats what it is, pathing. The defender is making a bee line without regard to trying to run around blockers or other defenders. So you get pile ups like a traffic jam. Its bogus and dumb.

And its unrelated to a pass rushing DT's situation. If the chance to break a block is too high, thats not a pathing issue.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2303567 this guy should beable to block weak Cb's

All joking a side +1 to Op..seeing 3 and 4 dots getting help up by one dot is silly

One of the coolest online games going is a WWII game which is a strategy-operational-tactical game that among its other features is being a first person shooter infantry/artillery/tank/air combat game. And every shot they fire as well as the movement uses real physics and ballistics. Very neat.

But by pure physics I meant as in only so many three foot blobs can be pushed against the two foot defending blob from the front.

How is this different than regular old physics?

I mean by no means did I suggest a slide rule or use of the gravity constant would be required to implement my suggestion.

You don't like the bee-line defenders make towards the blocker no matter the open space to move around them either? Yeah, D pathing is still pretty lolBad, but if it's fixed then OCs will simply cry moar.

Well you could add things to the O capabilities that would be helpful that might make them happy. Chip Blocks and that sort of stuff that are not in the game now.
