This is to much.
I have a 98 day old player on a Human team as the KR/PR. He has a solid record and was assigned both KR/PR duties. The the owner went AWOL and the team went CPU. The CPU owner then took my KR/PR out of the slot and assigned him HB duties and put a freaking CPU in his place.
The box idea is a good one and shouldn't require much to implement. It would help guys who are paying to play the game enjoy it more.

i like this idea, but i would approach it from a different angle.
opting out won't solve anything. the problem is that if everyone opts out, SOMEONE still needs to go on ST.
it will take some work on bort's part to make the d-leagues a bit more enjoyable. although all american dude has a point, if the d's are not as enjoyable (and most newbies end up there), then all you serve to do is get rid of your potential customer base.
the cpu ST unit needs to be revamped to choose by archetype, attribute, etc.
the K/P positions - self explanatory
the KR/PR positions should choose by returner archetype, then by speed
then the ST 'money' positions (OU3, IN4, SE1, SE2, etc.) need to be set by human STOP archetype, then cpu players, then highest stamina (by archetype), then everyone else.
all other ST positions should be categorized as a 'offensive strength/block' position, or 'def speed' position, etc, then filled again by human STOP archetype, then cpu's, then highest stam (by archetype), then everyone else.
honestly, none of the d-league's rosters are secret, so you can see that the ST unit usually just loads up all the humans and throws them into each slot. it should be loading up every cpu, but search for STOPs first.

if you want intelligent usage of your player, then stop playing in the baby leagues. i have no idea why the d leagues even still exist with the huge number of cpu regular league teams.
