Much easier to create one thread..then have to post multiple ads in the Marketplace (which get deleted after 5 days, unless you do an edit)

Considering the cutting and pasting a link to each player in a thread versus clicking a "Add Listing" button in the marketplace... I would go with the marketplace when it comes to ease.

So go there, nobody is stopping you..I prefer the other way.

But making one thread of a lot of FAs means you can't adequately tell us the ages in the title. So I have to click into your post just to find out you don't have anyone in the age I'm after.

So much easier for me to go to the market place, read an add, and offer for a guy.

You see, the time aspect works both ways.

That is something that could be suggested to improve on the marketplace. As far as ease of use goes, the marketplace is already light years ahead of the PLFT forum. Anything added (like extending the time limit on ads or allowing group ads) would just be icing on the cake. And ads don't automatically get deleted after 5 days. It has to be edited before 5 days is up or it is deleted. You could simply type a period in the ad and it's good to go for another 5 days.

To be honest, people that sit on a ton of contracts for 5 days sound like the attention whores I was referring to in my op.

Pretty sure you missed the part where I stated that it's retarded to have the dots scattered in different places.

So the divas still get their posts, why not do both?

Step 1: Drop the generic PLFT forum.
Step 2: Make the all PLFT forums response based only, I.e. you cannot post directly in it only respond to existing posts.
Step 3: Set up a series of PLFT forums sorted by position and age.
Step 4: Make it such that each time you click "Add Listing" your player gets a post in the proper PLFT subforum. Only allow one post per player per subforum, so if button is clicked twice, old thread is "bumped" and updated.

That sounds like an interesting idea, Puma.

I've got to go for now. Will digest it and probably include it in the op when I log back on.

Thanks for exposing your real agenda, vinman. I knew you didn't give two shits about this idea one way or another. If I had suggested getting rid of the marketplace and keeping only the PLFT forum you would have been for keeping the marketplace.

I think they both have a place, and your welcome.

Perhaps, but if having both dilutes the whole process of where to focus time of finding players to sign, I would say one or the other just for the good of the game. And my vote would be keep the marketplace which has all the PLFT forum has plus a few extra like sorting by age or level.

As an added bonus, the marketplace automatically withdraws a listing once a player signs unlike the idiots on the PLFT forum.
