if it were ud be playing live games and not sims.. you should gameplan for a team that passes 90% of the time lol... not hard to realize holy shit 9 out of 10 plays they throw, maybe i should worry about the pass more.

i know, mind fuck.

-1 so true, it is still amazing to me how many people confuse dot ball with real life.

So what all you -1''s are saying is that if a team comes out and goes 100% pass the defense wouldn't normally catch on to this and play better pass defense?

No we are saying this is a sim. and if you use your brain and actually scout and gameplan. then you are the one that would be able to put your defense in position to stop or slow the offense. basically if whoever is DCing the team you are upset over. did his job you wouldn't be in here wanting a change made to the game to make it easier for lazy people.

GLB doesn't need to institute a penalty for this behavior. Should be on the defenses to adjust properly.

I never said anywhere in this entire thread that I was upset about a defense or the job anyone is doing as a DC. And in fact this Suggestion would make it harder on Lazy People because offense coordinators would have to actually do work to find a reasonably balanced offense that actually works, and not just go with whatever is simple and easy. And defense Coordinators would have to plan for a more balanced opponent as well.

Several people have quoted Mat McBriar and his comment of "Should be on the defense to adjust properly" and that's exactly what I'm asking for in this suggestion. For the defense to be a bit smarter, and catch on to when a team is so one-sided in their play calling. Similar to how we already have a penalty for calling the same play multiple times. If it's all on the coordinator to just adjust the defense properly, why do we have the current repetitive play penalty? Shouldn't that be removed?

There is no such thing as a balanced offense. If your DAI is set up correctly, it doesn't matter whether or not your opponent runs the ball or passes the ball. If you want to win, you do what the other guy can't stop. Your suggestion would take that option away and leave the best DCs to winning games 6 - 3 in double overtime.

seriously man if you have to ask these questions you do not get it. the current repetitive play penalty is for running the same play over and over again. what you are asking for is entirely different and shouldn't even be considered in my opinion. If I OC a team and I want to pass 100% of the time then it is on the DC I am facing to devise a defense to stop me. It shouldn't be on the sim to penalize me for running a pure passing offense. you can say what you want and try to spin it however you want. but 99% of the time when a suggestion like this comes up the OP or a team they are involved with got hammered by whatever they want to change. and that is sad that you would rather have the sim changed to suit your need rather than have whoever the DC is work on his defense and learn to stop those offense's.

So why is one of these sitautions slapped with a repetitive play penalty and one not?

Because there are some dumbass's that try to game the system by finding 1 play and constantly running the 1 play. go back a few seasons to the Slam run craze. If you are a OC and have to revert to running 1 play you aren't much of a OC anyway. either way no matter how you spin it or try to make yourself look like you are right on this it still falls back that a DC's job is to stop what a OC does.
