It seems to be happening quite often each game and always results in 10-15 yard completions. My team doesn't run any zone, so that can't be it.

Is this part of an outside run defense or something?

Hey, you.
Threadjacking is bad.

My speed is very fast. I started out as a KR/PR, but converted him into a nickel back.

Could it be I'm too fast, and my agility isn't up to par, so I take a step toward him, then can't get back in time?

ZONE

You can be 100% man 2 man and that is still called.

The only way that can be zone...is if the defensive play call %s are not absolute.

My CB does that AT LEAST 3 or 4 times a game....so we are talking over 100 times a season in pure Man 2 man defense.

I dont think that is it....

the dots do get hung up on each other some times. I have seen Defenders get to close to each other and it act like ablock before.

i think the first case is Your guy took a bad angle to the ball ( it was in the air) , or what it kind of looks like the WR pushed off the way you slowed down wiht the ball in the air.

the SECOND one i would be almost CERTAIN was your CB going for the INT and missing.

the % coordinators input only control roughly 75% of the actual plays called.

look at the safeties. they go to their zones and stay till the ball is thrown.

Not only does the CPU run plays that it want's to, NO OC/DC has full control over the game.

He's fading back into a cover 3 zone and the WR runs a "Go" route inside the gap in the zone and your corner just gets beat.

It happens. The AI favors that zone package. I hate it too, but usually because it leave a gap underneath the right corner and any TE on an "out" route or HB in the flat will be wide open for 6 or 7 yards.

even if you were playing zone, why would the CB do that?

in zone coverage you play the man until he is out of your zone and then pass him off

you dont run around like a chicken with its head cut off

Here's some examples:

I'm usually a great corner, and the few times I've seen this happen, it's led to a TD (1st replay) or been a TD (2nd replay).

It's really hurting our team.

I don't really want to give away my build, so I'm just wondering...does it look like a lack of a certain attribute?

This is caused by the QB pump-faking. This causes the cb to stall before the pass if the QB has high enough pump fake or if the CB does not have enough vision.

Okay, I haven't really been having the same problem anymore, but now I'm having an even WORSE problem

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=10224873 (Why'd I cover the wrong receiver?)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=10225407 (Again...wtf)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=10227872 (Again, I just stop for no reason)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=10228523 (The runaway corner bug strikes again?)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=10228854 (Great play, GLB. Glad to see I'm being put to use guarding the sideline over there 10 yds from any offensive players)

Ok, a couple of those are interesting, but I think they can be explained. With all of these plays, you're playing against the same team. I think with the first three, your guy is simply guarding another receiver. This could very simply be explained, not in a receiver juking you out of their route, but a QB with a very high Pump Fake SA. Is it possible (especially with the 2nd one) that the QB is just pump faking to the other guy and your CB is trying to get a pick.

I have no clue what's going on with the last two, however.

A question--what are your interception tactics set to? Are you at "Only go for the Pick if there's help over the top"? Or a more/less agressive setting?

Only to go for the pick with help over the top.

Yeah they're all from the same team, because this is the only time I've had problems with stuff like this...at least to my knowledge.

No offense, but you're totally wrong. In both cases the CB went for the ball and didn't get frozen out at all. Looks like he didn't have enough jumping, honestly.

1. (Why'd I cover the wrong receiver?) -- Looks like the WR made the cut and you couldn't (lack of agility), so you started covering the other WR because he was closest (lack of vision).
2. (Again...wtf) -- Same as above.
3. (Again, I just stop for no reason) -- Lack of vision? You (and your buddy) broke the wrong direction completely.
4. (The runaway corner bug strikes again?) -- Looks like you just swung wide to box the WR in because your LB came over to help.
5. (Great play, GLB. Glad to see I'm being put to use guarding the sideline over there 10 yds from any offensive players) -- Again, you were playing containment with the ROLB, but you were containing the HB running towards the sideline (notice you and the HB run parallel tracks exactly, and when he turns downfield so do you).

If it were my CB I'd be upping agility and vision, with some jumping too. I'd also ask about my team's defensive tactics, because wasting a CB to spy a HB like on that last play is caused by the short pass coverage option in defensive tactics (and as you see, it is a total waste).

If that was Pump Fake - why don't all CBs fall for it? Or at least the defenders with similar vision? Looks more like head fake to me (WR is faking - only that one CB affected).

The second play looks more like the CB goes for the INT and misses.

1. (Why'd I cover the wrong receiver?) -- Looks like the WR made the cut and you couldn't (lack of agility), so you started covering the other WR because he was closest (lack of vision).
I'd say, you did switch to double coverage on the other WR and the FS was supposed to take over (looks like zone to me). But as you approached the WR, you kind of slipped or had to step out of the way. Could be great faking too, but I doubt that, for your guy doesn't even try to follow that original WR afterwards.

2. (Again...wtf) -- Same as above.

3. (Again, I just stop for no reason) -- Lack of vision? You (and your buddy) broke the wrong direction completely.
I'd say, just like above you are switching to double coverage, but the WR just turns to his inside route. Actually, the 2 CBs don't stop, but see the ball and change direction again (but before you notice, the play is over).

4. (The runaway corner bug strikes again?) -- Looks like you just swung wide to box the WR in because your LB came over to help.
That's sweet! Thats Runaway Corner, but on strongside! It's a zone defense for sure, but again played in the worst possible way. Noone is playing anyone but everyone is running to his supposed spot like hell.
GLB just doesn't get the idea of zone. Zone defense is NOT defending a spot!

I'd say, that's plain stupid. Staying 10 yards away from the HB and staying 5 yards away from the WR is nothing a defender might even think about when defending the endzone.

Do you play a lot of zone coverage?

Can we please discuss that over in the other thread? I'm really trying to get all these bad plays together, so finally someone might listen!

As they come up once in a while and all over the forum, usually someone shows up and just drops a "that is just a bad corner, get vision" (or agility or whatever). Usually, then everybody shuts up - for that one is a mod. But if we prove them wrong, finally we might attract other players to join in... and then these plays might be fixed sometimes.
