I can see how it would save effort but I worry about the slippery slope here toward having owners/coaches dictate things to agents...this may seem innocuous, but its the little things that become the first dominoes to fall.

The tactics editor page makes it pretty easy no matter how many dots you have. I'd support having a custom notes field there where you can cut and paste stuff from a team forum or PM, but anything more than that becomes the team/owner/coach mandating things... in real life thats fine--they pay the salaries--but in GLB the agents pay for the players.

I don't agree that the quick tactics editor makes it easy. That would make it easy if I was setting my own tactics on my own whim/strategy without any input from the coaches and coordinators. The reality is that 90%+ of the time I am just setting what the coaches ask me to set, which ends up being a bunch of time-consuming busy work. Why would a notes field that I have to copy-and-paste things into be better than having something already there I can reference directly without having to flip pages and copy-and-paste?

I don't understand the 'slippery slope' angle either. We aren't talking about any change in control or privacy at all. (Even though personally I wouldn't even care about the privacy angle, but still it isn't impacted by this suggestion.) All I suggested is basically an easier way for agents to see what those coaches suggestions are on the same page where they need to be implemented.

kids.....
If you're not going to get with the program then be a man and say just so. Everyone wants their freedom of choice but without consequence. Utterly unrealistic. Try telling ANY coach at any level that you'll make your own decisions on how you'll play........

In real life, your coach WILL dictate how you play. Your ability to be coachable is extremely important in real life.

If coach says play bump and run... perhaps you should bump and run. If coach says "you're slow, give him some buffer space" and you say "I got this, Coach" and get torched because you tried to play tight... that's on you.

Now, there should be some discussion. "Hey Coach, these are things I do well, my play style. If this doesn't fit what you are trying to do, at least in some package, then I request to be traded or released." "Well, we play man and you like a soft cushion zone. I can't really use that with my Blitz Packages, as you'd be in man during the regular game. But when we get a lead I like to lay off the Blitzes and hope they throw into coverage... and I also run Zone in Nickel and Dimes. If you'll take Big Lead, Nickel and Dime we can use you." "Thanks Coach, works for me for this season. We'll talk again next season."

In real life, Coaches have to communicate with Players... why not here? Coach wants these tactics to work on this play style, can you fit into it? If not, there are other teams to find that may suit you better.

because in real life the teams pay the players...in GLB the players pay to play

i agree with this Myd.

on another note..why would an agent play on a team and NOT follow the gameplans?? its a team game. if someone dont agree with the settings, shoot them a pm and discuss it. maybe u can win the OC/DC over to your thoughts....or maybe they can swing u over to their thoughts. thats what this sim was set up to do in the first place.

its called.. COMMUNICATION

I skimmed through this, so apologize if someone suggested it, but...

Elect to have your tactics "Set by coordinator", so instead of going to the board, checking what the coord wants, and then changing it, the coord can set it for you. That way the coord knows they are all on the same page, and the player can always override if necessary/desired.

Also make it visible as to which players changed off of the coord's suggestion.
