USAPL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
2 American Terrorists vs 3 Black Ops 7
After a long season, one that saw both of these teams tested against some great teams in their respective conferences, it's finally time for the conferences to face off in the LC game. Both teams had a tough road through the playoffs and both knocked off the top seeds in their conference so this should be a great game.

Let's take a look at the journeys both teams have taken this season.

Terrorists
Week 1 saw AT play host to SEXY in interconference play and that was a mismatch of epic proportions with AT taking a triple digit win. The following week they fell victim to the Lions by 2 points when the passing game failed to generate any offense. The next 6 weeks they blew up all over their opponents and hit midseason with a 7-1 record and looking like an easy pick for a top 4 playoff spot.

They opened the second half of the season with a shutout win over Covington and the next 2 weeks outscored the Jokers and Penguins 93-15. Week 12 was the first game against a top 4 playoff team, MEM, and they came through big with 21 points in the last 2 minutes of the game to seal the win. The following week they faced the top seeded Growl squad and suffered their second defeat after falling behind 0-20 in the first half. From there on out they went back to dominating opponents with the most notable win being a 47 point victory over Tulsa.

The playoffs opened up with a game against Canton and after taking a 28-7 1st quarter lead it was obvious the Bulldogs were in over their heads. In the second round the Terrorists hosted Monmouth in a battle of kickers that saw 9 FGs and only 1 TD between both teams. The winning FG came in OT for the Terrorists and they moved on to the CC game. That game would see AT travel to the land of the Georgia peach and at halftime the game was tied at 7. AT would score first in the 3rd Q but SGG came back with 2 FGs to make it a 1 point game until the Terrorists opened up their lead with 2 TDs in the final 2 minutes of the game.

BO7
The Ops opened their season up in the same fashion as AT with a triple digit win over Covington. Week 2 saw them host the Assassins and after 1 quarter it was clear there was only one team there to do the killing. The following week BO dropped their first game to the top seeded Mice by 3 points but the Ops bounced back immediately with a solid 18 point win over the Diggers after falling behind 0-10 in the 1st Q. Weeks 5-7 were nothing more than a stopgap for this team as they prepared for another big game in week 8. That week they hosted the Aggies and were looking at a 12-27 score with only 8 minutes remaining. BO came back strong though and with under a minute left they had closed the gap to a 19-29 game. They went on to win with 2 scored in the final minute of the game and like AT hit midseason at 7-1 and clearly a top 4 seed.

Week 9 saw them squeak out another close win with a 3 point victory over the Crocs and over the next 5 weeks the defense gave up a mere 6 FGs and 3 TDs to lead this team to a 13-1 record. Week 15 was a big game against ATKM and after giving up 17 straight points to the Men it would turn out to be BOs 2nd loss of the season. The Ops wrapped up their season with a big shutout win over the Groundhogs to finish up at 14-2.

The first round of the playoffs was a rematch of their week 16 game with the Groundhogs. BO held them off the scoreboard until the final 7 minutes of the game for a 34-7 win. That set up a 2nd round game with another team they had faced recently, ATKM. It would end up being decide by 7 points yet again but this time BO came out on top and were set to head to South Otto for the CC game. BO fell behind 0-9 in the 1st Q after giving up a safety and a TD in a 3 second span. They fought back in the 2nd Q to make it a 3 point game at halftime. A big 3rd Q saw BO take a 7 point lead into the 4th Q but they gave up 10 straight to the Mice and were down a FG. They managed to tie the game up in the final minute to force OT and got the ball first at their own 17. BO managed to convert on 3rd & long twice and managed to get into FG range for the winning score.

That brings us to todays game for the shiny gold gif. We've got the Wests #1 rushing O facing the Easts #2 rush D. AT ran for a staggering 6963 yds this season and scored almost twice as many rushing TDs as BO. ATs OLine has given up fewer sacks as well. Both teams have great defenses that much is sure. This one could come down to a few big plays on offense but I don't expect to see too many of those. BO will have to stop ATs running game and that could be tough to do for 4 quarters. I've got to give the Terrorists the nod here just on the strength of their ground game. If they keep the chains moving and BOs defense on the field they could get enough separation to make it tough for BO to come back.
