Still can't disreguard what they did just because they didn't have advanced AI's, DPC, More plays, better passing game with a passing bonus, pump fake, cheaper custom, quicker created players, passing progressions, archtypes, 2 point conversions, more custom slots, complete control on every aspect of the game and a lot more.

I guess, but it seemed easier back then.

Wouldn't say it was easier...LE has a point, it was equal (and it still is).

Pee wee had more hype during its first ~5 seasons

Question is: does TIA's win count towards the bears legacy?

Don't think so.. this is about franchises. Gets too muddy if you start talking about agents and the teams they were involved with...

Interesting thought though...

Who is the best Agent/Coordinator all time?
OC?
DC?

The true power of this team was never realized due to Dead.Eds refusal to help Bort buy his own pvt yacht. If this team would have always boosted with CEQ I have a feeling the teams posted above would surely have a few more L's and I wouldn't be surprised if Ed wouldn't have a Gold title along the way.

I think he was the best DC peewee ever saw. Where the f did you go Ed

IMO. Dead Ed is one of the best. .

I don't think anybody can say 1 DC has been the best by far.

Would love to see how he would deal with the current sim.... I've been trying to catch up the last few days and DCing is not so simple anymore. No way to stop every play in a formation with just 1 D.

I think that Ed was easily the best DC while he was playing. He might be the best ever, but how do you determine that? It's like saying Peyton Manning is better than Joe Montana or Dan Marino or Bart Starr. There's really no way to say one is better than the other. They're all just really damn good.

Ed was really damn good.

I think he was damn good. But I was DCing in the same era as Dead Ed and you can't say he was better than my Ds. I was always listed as a HC though... We both had a few blemishes on our resume in that time period. I ran a TON of Ds back then and I'm pretty sure it was tough to reverse engineer what I ran.

no way to determine who was the best, nor does it matter.. but it is something to do now it's the offseason.

Dead Ed

I'm sure I"m missing some DCs from that era...

the one thing Dead Ed did that I didn't do was work on his Ds during the regular season.. After season 13,14 and 2 Gold championships.. I never put much effort into my Ds until it was close to playoff time. dots perform so differently once they hit 8 and above, I always thought it was a waste of time.

I think Gerr has the best handle on DCing right now.. for the current sim. Boendby's DC did a good job too.

Being a good DC, and for that matter, a good OC, is the ability to adapt your system to all the seasonal changes. Trust me, not an easy task as I have had a couple #1 gold defenses, and several that were only above average. Dead.Ed and some of the great DC's did strike gold with their defensive schemes, but those were short lived and I wonder if they would be as successful through out all the changes. Think of it this way, the real 85'Bears are considered to have the best defense ever in the NFL, but would that defense and personnel work in today's NFL? I have never struck gold and had a very dominate defense like Dead.Ed and the other great DC's, but I keep my defense at a good level season after season.

It's also about time. Last season, I had Bevo as my OC, so that left me time to focus on the defense and thus the Bears has the #1 defense in gold. This season, I had to do both sides of the ball, and I firmly believe being a good OC takes 2x the time, so I just didn't devote enough time to the defense this season and it suffered. Weird thing is I spent even less time on TIA, but TIA's offense and defense were better, go figure...

As for TIA's championship adding towards the Bears legacy, while I wish it were so, it's just not. Yes the Bears and TIA shared nearly identical offenses and defenses, but for some reason TIA was just better this season. This is why I want to focus more time on the Bears next season and hopefully repeat my success there. But do remember that I was one quarter away from a championship as it took big 4th quarter comeback for the Bengal's to beat me. If I had both teams in the championship, I would have found a way to have the Bears win...

imo i think it was the builds i seen how ever build on TIA was on the ball. But on bears they were a lil off i mean my players were off.. I dont think i seen the vision of what you wanted till after the season.

Just my thoughts

Yep, I should clarify that he was (IMO) the best during my time in Gold. You guys weren't here much during that time. I have no doubt that all you listed were just as good. Another case of Manning vs. Brady.... lol

i cant really say much about before as i wasnt around PW much

but going off what i am trying to remember and where we are at now:

LE with SBWL was always a pretty good OC, still is although perhaps less so in his older age
Gerr always had a tough D but i always thought he struggled with offense (sorry gerr )
Time Trial i remember being good aswell but its abit hazey about him
Jstrong has imo always been a good OC and still is now
RaphaneKnight i dont think can be discounted taking a no/no team to the CCG was it? and winning with Maine in the same season was pretty inpressive,
Jackson55555 i think has been one of the best DC's for atleast the past 3 seasons

thats as much as i can remember from before im sure there were others though

With the new changes they've made, the Saviours are pretty much dead; I'm never going to spend the money to boost and custom everyone. So if I come back it will be strictly as a Coordinator, and probably won't be until season 25 at the earliest. And whether or not I come back will depend mostly on if they fix the sim, it looks horrible right now. Also still miffed over the dpc changes.
