Actually, it does a little bit. You get some more points for playing teams with more wins...and this season you get more points for playing well against a good Def/off, and less points for good performances against crappy teams.
It's not perfect, but it was aimed to try and reward teams for playing well against the good teams and to limit the gains from the teams smacking around the bottom of the league. And it does help some, although it's easy to argue not enough....
