If anyone was wondering why I chose to do this, there are a couple of reasons.
Number one is because the talent pool of coordinators is pretty low in GLB when you consider how many teams there are. I hate playing a game against a team that should provide good competition, but it doesn't simply because the coordinators don't quite know what to do. Some people may enjoy this state of affairs, but I don't. I want the overall competitive balance of GLB to rise as much as possible, especially in the lower leagues.
I consider that an important goal, but it's not the only reason I would do something like this either. It can't be just about what I can teach, or we're not going to get very far. I'm not a master of DCing by any means -- I just understand the basic components of the GLB DAI and why and how they differ from what your idea of American football would lead you to believe. By opening up this "college" I hope to attract DCs who are much better than me, who will then share their knowledge with everyone. This is a win/win as far as I'm concerned. I learn more, and so does everyone else who wants to learn.
Already we have attracted some fine DCs and they are beginning to share their methods and insights as I had hoped they would. As this continues, I have no doubt this little college of ours will become the premier place for DC and DAI knowledge on GLB. And that will be because of the people who have joined and shared their knowledge. So come on and join us, and get ready to learn and to teach!
