True dat. Of course, playing in the Western Conference (for all teams other than the Hedgehogs) "usually equals under the Radar" too!

You are right.

Going 18-1 in the lolWest is under the radar too.

If I understand it correctly, all our players should be able to reach lvl 77 anyway. Anyone want to discuss how the revised ages and levels and revised plateau will affect teams in USAPRO?

Your math not so good.

Most of your guys will be lvl 73, as they will get 6 boosts.

I posted this in February in one of my Private Forums.....with accelerated player development coming, it won't be beneficial anymore. The extra 3 levels to 77 are better IMO.

If you want to save flex.....don't boost until the end of the 3rd season.....

If you haven't figured it out yet....I like numbers, and when the suggestion was up discussing the idea of extending the 3 boosts for dots between lvl 69-71 beyond S22....I thought to myself that there was a catch involved.

So I started messing around and tried to figure out what would happen if you didn't boost for a while and intentionally put your dots 1 season behind the standard curve. To do it, you don't boost your dot until the end of his 3rd season when he will have reached lvl 21....then when you boost him, you only boost him twice to lvl 23. So you have a 120 day old dot at lvl 23 vs. the early (level 1-4) booster 80 day dot at lvl 23. Then you do the same build method you would normally use....boost to 25 on day 0 of the following preseason, boost again at the end of the season to hit lvl 29, and then blah blah, fast forward to day 400....now, that your dot is nearly matured, you end up with a lvl 63 dot instead of a lvl 68 dot like the early boosters. The following preseason, you boost to 66 while they boost to 71....Fast forward to day 440 preseason....you boost to 69, they boost to 74....day 441, you boost again to lvl 72 so you can get your last EQ.

So, you avoided 3 boosts in season 0 (lvl 1-4), 3 boosts in season 1 (12-15), 3 boosts in season 2 (20-23), and 1 boost in season 3 (because you only used 2), but you did have to do a double boost at the end of your career....all in all, you saved the cost of 7 boosts over the course of your career.

OK....that's all great and all, but WHY would you ever want to do that? Your dots will be 5 levels behind the competition every season, and they just won't be able to compete....or will they? The other catch besides just saving flex is that you will be able to get a whole lot more out of your training over the course of your career. The time that you get the most out of your training is when skills are low.....by not boosting, you are keeping your skills lower than everyone else (until the very end), so you get the benefit of improved training over your entire career. By the time you hit 240 days old, the benefits of that improved training will allow you to equalize the 5 level deficit....i.e., your level 40 dot will have the same effective level as their lvl 45 dot.

I've also run a handful of dots through the VPB, and I can't make lvl 74 dots that are as good as the lvl 72s that I don't boost early.....I'm talking about some crazy high Effective levels. I would prefer to make all of my dots that way....the problem is that GLB is a team game, and most teams aren't willing to wait around for non booster dots to mature late in their career....they want to be in Elite during their entire career. I'm a team player, so I do the early boosts.

The only downside is that your dots will end up with 61 Veteran Points instead of 68 like the early boosters.....but that means you are working on a 5th VA....how many GREAT VAs are out there when you've already filled up 4? I think the better build is worth the tradeoff.

I don't really understand the new system to be honest. The whole re-aging thing and then how many boosts do you have left is not very clear. If someone can give some examples of how this change will affect different players age 400-560, it would be great.

From the APD Final Details and FAQs thread....

Player Conversion

Existing players will be converted to a new age equivalent based upon the following conversion factors. Ages will be rounded up to the nearest whole number.

Day 0-19 .9
Day 20-29 .85
Day 30-39 .8
Day 40-79 .7
Day 80-119 .65
Day 120-159 .6
Day 160-199 .51
Day 200-239 .56
Day 240-279 .55
Day 280-399 .58
Day 400-440 .6
Day 441-560 (for players in plateau) subtract 160 days
Day 441-560 (for players not in plateau) no conversion
Day 561 no conversion

If you enter this post season at 441+ days, and you are no longer in the extended plateau b/c you didn't boost enough, or you are past 561 days old....you are still in decline.

If your dot is between 441 and 560 days old, you simply subtract 160 days from your age. These dots will be eligible for 2 additional seasons of Extended Plateau, and the 3 boosts if they weren't already used to boost from 69-72.

400-440 day dots have their age multiplied by .6 to result in 240-264 day old dots....they can still boost during the S24 Preseason and again when they reach 281 days old. Although the 400 day old dots will also be able to boost in the preseason of S25 (280 days old at that time) and then on day 1 of S25 when they enter EP....this is why the Admins put a cap of level 79 in place....these dots could hit level 80+ otherwise.

399 day dots have their age multiplied by .58 to come out as 232 day old dots....they will see the same advantages as 400 day old dots....they just enter their plateau 8 days later.

Part of what I posted about the age adjustments is under that link....all of the text at the bottom past "Day 561 no conversion" was mine.

Glad you liked it. I actually built an HB like that...but he's only in his 4th season. I'm debating whether or not to keep him around or just retire him after this season.
