My team isn't in Gold, but I am only on my second season. I'd love to contribute 3 players to a team of Pee Wee's best trying to make some noise outside of Pee Wee.

Great idea but unfortunatly im also not "gold" worthy. O_o

True, but it isn't exactly working is it?

we still have around 4 CPU teams each year and there are teams like Ogopogo who can beat almost anyone and they don't boost.

the threat to all go "No-no" seemed to work as they gave us rented equipment, but then they have introduced this, which is a step backward, in my opinion.
This will just make the better teams SO MUCH better, and will destroy teams like Ogopogo .

Last season I had to early boost just to ensure a chance of making the playoffs, such was the EAST - I think you had to do the same.
To make it to the playoffs and see teams better teams boosting late and having levels above me, will destroy the game.
i think i would just give up.

it depends on what you consider 'gold worthy' ...I think if the gold faithful approved of an agent to get involved in our contingent of the world league, then that agent would be considered 'gold worthy' ...of course, the gold league participants would need to approve of this idea for longevity coz without the support of the gold league, this suggestion would lack sustenance ...but if it was locked in, i think it would be great for the peewee community ...it would no doubt promote peewee to the GLB community also!

Is this right? Is the VPB wrong on this one then, since it reckons you will reach 16 whether you boost late or early, which makes sense since daily and game xp are at a flat rate until level 16?

The thing that did occur to me was - is game exp. still variable (by a few points here and there), as it was before? Because if so, some people will hit 16, and some won't, and there's nothing they can do about it... According to the VPB you hit Level 16, and exactly 0xp, on day 40. Even one lost xp in the season and you'd be screwed.

This is good for the long-term builds, but this will kill PeeWee.

It sounds good at first, b/c the dots will have some more SP's to use and will perform better later in the season.

But by being able to reach level 16 in the playoffs with boosting, you will HAVE to boost in order to win. They obviously chose level 16 for this exact reason, to promote boosting.

It used to be tough to overcome the 15 SP's, but it's feasible and teams can compete w/o boosting or CEQ. Now you would have to covercome the 15 SP's plus the lv16 EQ (which will likely be worth another 12 SP's, perhaps more based on build).

Throw in CEQ and a team is now down 40+ SP's (15 for boost, 12 for equipment, 6 CEQ, 6+ for CEQ SA).

It is hard enough to get enough PW teams to compete...this will kill off a lot more teams that know they can't compete.

They should change this to level 15.

A big -1 for me.

I said the exact same thing about this 2 days ago.

So am I right about the xp variation thing affecting whether you hit 16 or not? Potentially, that could really unbalance a league championship game, no?

If daily XP and game XP is identical for levels 1-15, why would someone need to wait until day 40 to boost? I did the math and as long as a player gets max XP, they should reach level 16 on day 40 no matter when they boost. If I am wrong about this, please explain why.

That's what I thought: it makes no difference when you boost... But, as I say, if there are still the small variations in how much game XP players of the same level get from games, then some people are not going to be able to reach 16 with boosts. I'm probably just missing something totally obvious which makes this not an issue, but it looks like one to me.

I bet Catch22 meant that no one can get to level 16 until day 40, not that they need to wait to boost on day 40 to reach 16.

Isn't the championship game before day 40?
(never been)

Aye, I'm sure that is what Catch meant. But it looks to me that it won't be possible for everyone anyway. The changelog from June says that players now receive "Max XP" for one play, but I looked at players from since then, made the same day, at the same level, and they still occasionally get very slight variations in XP (1-2 points). If I'm right that you can only just make 16 with absolute max xp in every game, then just one of those tiny variations screws you. Someone clever tell me I'm wrong, please

Either day 39 or day 40 depending on which league you are in.

This is what I get from the VPB:

Season: 0
Day: 40
Player Age (Days): 39
Available Boosts: 3
Boost Count: 0
Level: 13
XP: 0 / 1000

Or, level 16 with 0 boosts remaining, makes no difference. But the important bit is 0XP. So no room for XP loss at all. Since the minor variations in XP were definitely still in force last season (after the 1 play for "max" xp announcement), then these minor variations could mean the difference between hitting 16 and getting the EQ bonus, or not. In effect, perhaps no one ever gets true "max" XP from every game of a season, so everyone will miss out on 16. If not, though, you could theoretically go into a day 40 champ game with two fully boosted teams, one of which has (say) 10 players who got lucky and got max xp all season, reached level 16, and thus have +8 EQ (and an extra 5SP from the level) and the other team with no players who hit 16. Could make quite a difference.
