I can tell you that my WR with more strength/catching than speed/agility has been averaging 8 yards a catch and 8 catches a game....and he's level 8 vs level 15-20's. It seems that he gets open BECAUSE he is slow, the cornerbacks back off way too much.

That was something else I noticed. I also expect to play him in the slot, almost like like a TE.

Interesting idea. I just don't know how you will have a Level 15 POSSESSION Receiver with 20 catching.

You don't need a ton of catching. I have level 18 WR with 23 catching and he had 4 drops in 2 seasons.

I highly suspect that catching isn't just about not dropping the ball, but is about hauling it in when it would otherwise sail right past you. I also think you will have a tougher time catching deflected balls, and keeping the ball out of the hands of sticky fingered cornerbacks.

I have a level 21 WR with about 25 catching, and he seems to do just fine with it. I think catching isn't the only stat that helps you actually catch the ball. I suspect it's a combination of catching/strength/agility.

He has 3 drops on the season with roughly 15 catching, so we'll see.

Another play which gives me a lot of hope, exactly the kind of plays I'm looking for. However, he did have 4 drops in that game, but they seemed to be because of low jumping.

I decided to follow suit and create one of my own.

My plans:

50 Strength (No eq boosts for this)
40+ Agility
30+ Speed
Training Catching

Poss. Receiver Tree. Going to pump up route run and sticky hands.

Hoping to turn him into a beast of a slot WR

Found a high strength WR who hasn't done much.

He's also got his eq boosts all over the place and is the No. 1 WR. Like you said, I plan on using him exclusively in the slot.

Hehe interesting build. Good for D-League pwnage. Perhaps make one while there's just enough games left to get level 7 and then play D-League again and boost half way through so you're like top level in league haha, duno always been my dream just not for WR

You need to raise you carrying also. It's a large factor in breaking tackles.

*slaps head*

Yeah, you're right. Didn't think about that.

I'm kind of doing the opposite experiment. Going all out into speed/agility/first step/route running with my low level WR just to see what happens.
