I am not sure how Bort benefits from this. How do we fill out the teams then? or do we just expect shorter leagues because of this? Perhaps I am missing a small point?

People will still be able to buy teams.

The suggestion is just to reserve a specific team I.D. for a few season.

okay so that means the team still exists but it is in a state that there will be no players on it and thus less teams available. Would there then be other teams created to take that teams place?

They make new teams every season. It is an ID just like the players. This would reserve the right to keep that team and it would count as one of your teams that you own.
