170 for CB, 175 for WR.

I don;t understand how ya'll CAN'T get mid 80's carrying and 70 strength on a WR without sacrificing too much.
I still end at 125 speed at lvl 71 with 84 carry, 78 str, 72 catching, 78 agility, 60 confidence, 51 stamina, and 55 jumping, and a botload of SA's... and he started pre-ALG's.

What are ya'll doing??

That's not a very good WR. You just won't catch enough balls for your tackle breaking to be meaningful at the WL level.

Because he can break a couple of tackles on screens does not make him a good wr.

This is one of the sickest plays I've seen out of a wr to date.

Yea, needs more ability to separate, which is the key to making catches in this sim. And then catch the ball in traffic too, but with 72 catching, its tough.

So, with post AT dots, how would ya'll go about building a Power WR, and what goals would ya'll aim for with each attribute? And is it worth building one still or no?

I have 3 or 4 power WRs that I am building right now and I don't have much confidence that any of them will be good, tbh.

That being said, you need to target whatever you think will be the minimum speed/agility/catching/jumping that will allow you to be a viable target in future sims, figure out what "adequate" vision, confidence and stamina numbers will be for you, and have the rest in strength/carrying, with some Spin and First Step.

Probably easier to use one of the other archetypes.

That's the rub, isn't it?

With no ALGs in jumping, for example, it's difficult to weigh the relative importance in the current sim, no less keeping in mind where the sim might go. Is the fact that there aren't ALGs a clue...or a miscue?

This is about where the "cookie cutter" criers jump in, as if there's only one relative build for "getting open" it would seem only minor variations are viable beyond that.

While I am experimenting to some degree with my current build, I would enjoy it a lot more if I knew that even if I don't nail it I'm not risking obsolescence.

In my experience, no other position is so unforgiving as WR. You are either really dialed in, in which case you can be extremely effective, or you are a little off, in which case you just suck balls.

It's a brutally tough position to build well, imo. (although there are still multiple build paths that can be effective...there is no one "perfect build" by any means).

I hadn't thought about it that way....that's interesting.

I guess looking at it that way, while many DEs may underperform the stakes aren't quite as high as a WL DE that is "adequate" will put up numbers on the same spectrum as one that is above average -- relative to WRs anyway.

Hmmmmmm....

Well that only begs the question then of how one gets "plugged in" in any kind of meaningful fashion through effort as opposed to atrophy and experience.

Reliable resources don't exist; this isn't a complaint btw, just an observation. *Some* of the fun still comes through seeking the resources and weighing the value of the information gleaned from posts and extrapolating data collected from lower leagues and lesser players.

*Some* of it....
