i mean, if i had to do a power rankings of the best teams based on everything, 8 of them are still in the top 10 of avg eff value. Doesn't mean everything and there are obviously exceptions but there is still a correlation to an extent

still a whole lot of jelly in here. though we are still all but mere ants in dpride/blaze's keyboard. they are the real aev champs

If you did a top 10, would you have anyone that is outside the top 12 on effective level?

It's a pretty good correlation, but I do think it would be better if it took into account AEQ and took out Ps/Ks as they significantly skew the rankings. It's not uncommon to have a 200-400 point discrepancy between Ps/Ks that perform exactly the same. Every 300 points is ~10 on average effective level. So if you have elite Ks/Ps in effective level you will rank 5-10 places higher. Those positions obviously have significantly less effect on actual performance.

if i had to do a top 10 based on history, rosters and gut i'd probably have in no order

odessa
lincoln
esl
hhwc
mphd
alpine
providence
indy
canton
korb

those 10 could certainly miss the playoffs but i think the odds are in their favor rather than the bottom 10 teams who have more of an uphill climb

there are always 2-3 teams who under/over perform though but still think they're the exception rather than the rule. Still haven't seen a team like QCBC who made like 4-5 playoffs always being in the bottom 10-12. Was a crazy run

Didn't smurfs usually have a bad EV and made playoffs a few times, too?

And yeah it would be awesome if it took into account EQ/AEQ/CEQ somehow, and also was full roster instead of top half. You *still* couldn't use it for anything important, like making leagues, but it could be more interesting if it was a more complete picture.

No, but some people build 3xAEQ and some build 4xAEQ - the final builds are pretty similar usually, but the 3AEQ will have better build value. So you can't compare the builds using that.

I would have the exact same 10 teams. If I had to pick one of those teams to miss the playoffs it would be providence because they're pretty old at some key positions (WR) and just aren't as good as like mphd to overcome it. But today those would be my top 10 too. There seems to be a greater spread in wl effective levels this season for whatever reason.

With the chemistry disadvantage that Lincoln will carry through all of it's games, we may have some early struggles. We definitely did not get a favorable early schedule. I still view us as super dangerous come playoff time, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us battle amongst the 6th -> 9th in Alpha.

Lincoln has a pretty severe talent advantage over most of Alpha. If you guys were in Zeta, it would be interesting, but I just don't see 8 teams that can beat Lincoln in Alpha, even with the early chemistry issues.

Yup, we're basically squaring up dot advantage versus chemistry disadvantage.

4 AEQ's on some dots is just a complete waste.
