I do the math. Think about how many training days your player has left. Then figure out how many bonus tokens you need to buy the EQ you want (at least 3 fully upgraded pieces of AEQ). Figure out a combination of quad/light or triple/light or whatever that will get you there.
Days*(tokens per day) => Needed BT
So say you need 720 BT to upgrade 3 pieces to level 72, and 210 to make them from scratch (shopping is an option). That is 930 BT invested in EQ that you need to generate (minus any you've already put in). Say you have 350 training days left in your career...
x*(3)+y*(1.5)=930
x+y=350
Where x is number of days training light at 3 BT/day, and y is the number of days training quad at 1.5 BT/day.
Solve the system of equations and you get
x=270, y=80, or 80 days of quad training and 270 of light training.
