My CB just clinched a win with a 104 yd INT return for a td, with less than 2 minutes left in game. Very exciting, and for about 2 seconds I was wondering if that could be the longest INT return---NOT even this week! In top plays of the week, there is a 109 yd INT return for a td.

Does that even count? That build sucks in todays sim. Wouldn't even sniff 40 INT's.

Today's sim means nothing to a dot that didn't play in it. He played great in his era of GLB. That's like saying Night Train Lane wouldn't have anything close to his Interception numbers in the current NFL passing era and shouldn't be a HOFer.

Also ALG's were much lower on CB's earlier in GLB as well as many other positions. Only Centers had better ALG's then the current system.

Well Night Train lane would barely make a team in today's game. He is not fast enough to compete in today's game and he reckless abandon wouldn't be tolerated. And no, if he was playing today he would not be a HoF'er.

If you look at his blowout stats, the numbers change dramatically. Raw numbers are not counted. I don't even know why they print them.

lol, thats because blowout stats were not recorded until s13, his last season. if you hand pick through the games, i think he had somewhere around 60 INTs in non-blowout games. i think the number was 57 or so... which is higher than most CBs get in their career.
was the build perfect? no. would it be good enough now? hell no. he was +2 in effective level, but has no where near the build that CBs today have... partially because of ALGs, but also because slow building and basic build strategies that are common place and well thought out now, were not nearly as widespread/not even thought up yet; and that being my first dot, i made my share of mistakes. but, did that dot play well back in the day? yes. he did play in USPL his last season, and i would say he did fairly well. didnt get the INT numbers I or wise were expecting, but he still started and he didnt allow a single reception for a TD all season... which i would consider a success. from what i remember he played in AAA for like 3-4 seasons prior to that (back when AAA not only existed but actually kind of meant something.)
again, i wasnt saying he would be good now, but he was good back in the day. i think it would be hard to find someone to say that he wasnt at least an above average who happened to be in the right spot at the right time and got a few lucky INTs.
