Right, kinda like when PNP got torched for 101 points when on every single play every receiver was in double coverage...PF fired 30+ that game, I remember counting. You'd rather see that?

I pretty much said like 20000 times last season PF was overpowered????

Even then... with 4-5 points in PF maine manged to hold us to a pathetic passing game several times...

I also watched Tomlinator hold that same offense that torched your team for 101 points to less than 50 yards of offense with 20+ possessions... so maybe you just sucked at defense last season?

The reason why people were complaining last season is because they weren't used to stopping the pass. Even though it was obvious that the passing was overpowered during the first half of the season (game 1~game 8) it was hardly overpowered during the games that mattered the most. (2nd half)

During the earlier years of the "passing era" I too was frustrated and thought the sim was a joke but with the right builds and the right schemes top DCs were starting to figure it out. Mccollums teams had no trouble stopping the pass, FG didn't have much trouble stopping the pass, and Maine shut down most of the pass heavy teams adding bleeds/gutterade's teams which has been by far the most successful passing teams during the pass heavy era.

I have to agree that pump fake was a joke and needed to be nerfed. Also they needed to nerf the early QB boost (game 1~game 8). I don't think they should have touched anything else. What I liked about last season was the versatility of teams. You had all out passing teams, balanced team, and run heavy teams. All three type of teams had equal success and the better team won at the end regardless of their play style.

Although I understand why some people would like the new sim but it's clear to me that sim has regressed and it actually looks like PW. I know most people would agree with me but there aren't that many pw guys out there that plays pw for the sake of pw.
The merit of PW is the competitiveness and the fairness. I think Bort has done a brilliant job of separating PW from other league with the QB boost, CE rental program until now.

But don't get me wrong. This isn't to knock on teams that are having huge success this season. In fact I have a lot of respect for teams like SAS and to be quite honest I think SAS would still be undefeated with last season's sim. That's how good dead.ed is. And at the end, great coordinators will eventually adapt to the new sim but I just want the sim to be more versatile rather than one sided, where its limited to one style of football.

And this is coming from someone that has been a big critic of people whining about running slams and has been a big fan of smash mouth football. I have no problem with today's sim and we'll likely adapt but I can't really buy into the fact that the sim is going toward the right direction. It's definitely has taken a step back.

Yah, I'm sure that SS/FS blitz every play stuff would fly in last season's sim... /lol

But, RK has it right... which I assumed he would... since I watched him stop the pass with ease last season... "overpowered" as it was.

You could say that, but minus the last two games when we were down 2-3 levels PNP had a top 7 D
We had a ton of people go completely off the build guide and have like 20 vision.

I do think this sim is broken, mind you, but there are just simple fixes and GLB is too fucking lazy to make them.

Things to fix:

LBs stopping when the QB throws the ball to the HB
Passing sucking balls
Blocking logic being horrendous
Amount of pancakes/revcakes
HBs stopping when they get to open field

I disagree since Dead.ED has always been a blitzing team regardless of sim changes. Remember Dead.Ed took a season off in S18. In S17, his team played brilliant and they still had the same blitzing scheme.

He has a different philosophy of running his defense unlike mccollums or myself where we run a more position oriented defense which involves doubling, tripling receivers. It doesn't mean it's less effective. I would have to say Dead.Ed is the 2nd best DC in the game and only mccollums is better.

Jkid2 could also be in the mix but I always felt that his biggest strength was in his offense and it was only recently where he figured out the defense part. But yeah I don't see how you can knock on Dead.Ed's DCing skill because he likes to blitz the safeties. He takes a lot of time game planning and there are very few who understands the sim better than him.

woah woah woah, don't put words in my mouth... just said that defense wasn't the way to go to defend the pass in seasons past... at least against someone who *knew* how to make it look silly... which it should be pretty easy to do... just not this season... thanks to 10 drops and some friggin crazy perfect builds from him.

Not true at all, the number one D in gold last season and no 1 pass defense and champions of gold blitzed their safeties on every play and left the receivers in single coverage

someone has a lot better builds lurking in their defensive backfield, even then they got torched a few times... if they didn't have the offensive success they did... they'd be a much different team.
