finnegan is a POS. he knows he doesn't have the talent to hang with dre, so he resorts to cheap shots and trash talk to try and get dre out of his game and bring him down to finnegan's level. to his credit, he's good at it and got one of the nicest guys in the league to snap and go all ike turner on him.
finnegan reminds me of the "little brother" who just keeps pestering and poking at the big brother, knowing big brother can't hit him or he'll get in trouble. well, the problem with that approach is that big brother can only take so much, then you get your ass beat and that's exactly what happened.
all kidding aside, props to dre for stepping up and issuing a man's apology afterward. didn't point the finger at finnegan, didn't make excuses...just said it was wrong, he was out of line and apologized to the league, his team and his fans.

And I'm sure they asked him, straight out, "Do you think Johnson should have been suspended" and he gave his opinion. Now that might be seen as a little bit whiney, but it's not whiney toward Johnson, it's whiney toward the authorities. Who probably would have given him a suspension, due to his poor track record.
But I still haven't seen him say anything anywhere whining about the beatdown he got. Your original statement was "don't cry foul when you get the result you were angling for" and I have yet to see any evidence of that.
