Speed, Tackling, Agility, Vision etc would be far better than a K/P

only reason people don't do this is the one who kicks off is whoever is in the K slot. that means theyre the one kicking any XPs and FGs for you as well. since there isn't a way to assign people separately to those roles you kinda just deal with a kicker trying to make tackles and hope he doesnt miss too many

He then had to make it so that FW and BW players could return the KO, because the kicking team reached the ball before the returner. He then had to return to the old system and make a minimum distance for KO's (around the 20 yard line) because teams were forcing too many fumbles on kick returns.

Long story short: as D~Town says, anyone can KO to the 20. Build doesn't matter.

ty

yes it is true, I have had a couple of different players KO in the BUFF Tourney with exact same results.
Morale hit on 4th down, I bet. Not sure how much and if it is for whole team or just the O if you don't make the 1st down. Risk , Reward should even out here though.

I think maybe a Punter that can Kick 20-25 yard FG's would be best and still have the vision to nail a couple of coffin corners or inside the 10 at best would be a good asset.

I have had a few K/P in my day on our team. This will be the first one I build this season.
The one we had in the past averaged 17-20 yards a punt and was a machine on FG's.

Here his build it is still open. (I think he has too much confidence, but that seems to be the intangible attribute for kicker)

Season 12 we went P/K and this was our player (This was in Gold). He did well @ kicking FG's I just can't find his Punt Average http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1688019&playoffs=0

From checking some games it looks to be about 17-20 yards That might be enough to entice me to do it! His FG's were GREAT! Unfortunately you have to check Box Scores of games to see any punting data. As it is not recorded on his person.

This is a good build to start with and a base I am going to use with some of that confidence going into strength

FGs have been lol for more than a few seasons now. The numbers are terribad at 20-29 yards and just get stupid after that. With the current sim (The D~Town example is from S12) you're not likely to ever have a 9/10 season again kicking FGs unless they're in the 17-22 ish range exclusively. To punt or not to punt really comes down to a teams offensive philosophy. Go for it often on 4th? Prolly not worth staffing a punter. Can't count on your D to make a stop? Hire one.

The idea that any position can kickoff to the ~20 yard line is the only bit of info worth following up on. If this is true then teams that realize FGs are lol and don't kick enough to make it worth their while would prolly be better off with a Punter kicking off and punting.

The crappy truth is that neither a punter nor a kicker at the Pee Wee level is consistent at anything. I'm not pinning my hopes n dreams on a coffin corner punt or a 'long shot' 30 yard field goal. Lunch Box has employed a Kicker that punts for a couple of seasons now. We rarely attempt FGs and usually only punt to scoot the ball across the 50 if the distance for a first down isn't favorable.

Also... when was the last time morale made a difference at this level? I haven't seen a noticeable effect in many seasons regardless of the number of points scored, 4th downs not converted, etc. The worst my players have finished a game has been about 56 and thats still a light greenish lolbar on the summary screen.

A 33 yard FG is what got Helsinki to gold...

We've made a lot more FG's than we've missed the past couple years. Granted, I'm not kicking much if anything over 30 yards...but I prefer an accurate kicker over a powerful one.

Gotcha!

I prolly should have paid more attention in Thunder's "how to dominate GLB" classes........

I was so mad I stopped watching after McCoy ran in the TD. Just watched red zone after that lol. Was laughing at the Jets to, until the Lions choked.

Same here.

With 4 to go and 20-10, I flipped on Red Zone, checked back in and it was 20-17 in instants. Then leave it to CBS to take the game off air and RZ to save the day.
