And as a native, I'll say this. The traffic wasn't so bad before the influx of "foreign" residents from the north and California.

No sane person would ever leave California to head over to that shithole of a dessert u call Texas. I think Daniel Tosh said it best when he said living outside of Cali is for people who gave up on their dreams.

HAH! The traffic's bad because the natives believe that

- traveling in the passing lane until they're 20 yards away from their exit and cutting over 3 lanes to exit is "safe"
- blinkers are either A.) to let you know they're halfway through with the merge/turn or B.) legal right-of-way to commence with said merge/turn
- if they pull out in front of you, you better slow down because he who initiates contact is at fault (unfortunately, this is the law - see, even the legal system encourages poor driving)
- 4WD = INVINCIBLE on ice. Sure, it's only 2 weeks in Feb. but go ahead, count the rednecks in the ditch along I-35 one day. The number is astronomical for what little ice we actually see every year.

Born in Houston, grew up in Jacksonville. Texas has Austin, so Texas wins.

That isn't just in TX believe me.
I-35 and I-80 in Iowa see more 4WD-tards in the ditch/median than any other type of vehicle.
Of course, if you drive a 4WD properly, this can be avoided.... minus all the deer/pheasant that run out in front of you on any given winter day.

I've only been to Orlando, and I have to say that it rivals Houston for horribad cities.

Texas is pretty great, Austin and Dallas are by far the best major cities in the state.

Austin is one of the best major cities in ANY state imo..... but it isn't the whole state of TX.
I lived in Arlington and Dallas for a while until last year and while I enjoyed Dallas, it wouldn't be in my top 10 of best big cities.
