Here is what should happen:
The two teams in the title game should get to take turns picking the teams in their conferences for the coming season. Just like on the playground only instead of the best players getting picked first they would be trying to put the easiest teams in their conference.
That will leave the two conferences balanced assuming the champion owners do their homework.
