Last season 5 teams in the Western Conf were 13-3 or better, so that's part of the issue. I remember only 2-3 really powerful teams in East, the rest were kinda there. With West even the middle teams were fighting their asses off for the last 3 playoff spots.

Several of us were building our teams focused on season 2. This season I expect the cross conference record to be much closer.

I can't speak for any of the other teams in West, but I do know that I managed to keep all but a couple of players (One guy wanted to go to his friends, another left because we had too much depth at that position, but kept others of his players on the team), so It worked out that we were able to hold together, and I think that's showing in our season start this season.

What I would really like is for more cross conference games next season. Maybe play 10 Same Conference games and 6 out of conference. Or even better, switch to having 4 conferences, with 6 in conference games (Play each of the other 3 teams in your conference twice) and then 10 out of conference games.

There's a lot more motivation in getting to be the best than staying the best. I think this serves the East teams more in their goals of getting to the top of the league. I think once you're on top for awhile you kinda become complacent. I looking forward to Canton reminding some people why you have to be looking out for everyone. (No disrespect to anyone in the league on that.)

I don't think that really applies at the moment.. as only 2 of the 4 teams at the "top" last season are still here. (Detroit & Michigan) and while i can't speak for Detroit (their defense certainly doesn't look complacent),and I can say without question that we aren't less motivated than last season.

And while Detroit is 2-2, they've played arguably as hard a starting 4 than anyone. And no disrepect to Canton, but you've only played 2 1-3 teams & 2 0-4 teams.. so it's a bit early to say that Canton (at this juncture) is sending any messages other than that you beat the same teams that everyone else does... but that could change over the next 2 games.

I'd like to think any team, with the right game planning has a decent chance of a win every couple days. I'm not saying Canton is the team to beat only that we look forward to the challenges coming up. There are still quite a few people learning this game and with the new AI components coming out it will be a little bit of a learning period all over again. I think with the new play calling setups this game really will be decided more by research and strategy than who has the highest average level and I definitely like that. Good luck to all in the next game, besides the buckeyes of course, because we have to compete against them.

I agree that game planning has a big impact. We started out 1-8 last season and ended the year on a winning streak after I turned over the game planning to my coordinators. Good GMs/Coordinators are worth their weight in virtual gold.
