Yes, my "3/4 flops" was Wildfire / Exiles / Bloodweiser.

CPL teams got unlucky with promotion time, though. Wildfire promoted a season early, Queensland/Bloodweiser a season late. If I recall correctly, Blood was hitting decline a bit hard last season compared to if they beat Wildfire, and Queensland lost a lot of their best players after losing to Moose Jaw.

We were naive and a flop....

Oct has it 100% though...timing, but the best we could have hoped for is mere survival.
The cream retired....thanks for the late Plateau kids

I like the look of Bloodweiser and Dogs...they could well represent CPL better than those prior "flops"

I'd dearly love to go back and hang in there for a couple of seasons.

yeah definitely our season was the one we dropped to MJ and they ended up going up obviously they weren't a fluke; but i was pretty upset about that loss to them at the time

Monowi is in a pretty similar position to what Wildfire was looking at. We may be able to stick with 8-9 wins, but it's just as possible we go 7-9 as our schedule looks ridiculous from here on out. If we can hang, though, we'll be a force in S18.

Fwiw, I think that Providence is probably the CPL best-positioned currently for the WL. Not in S18, but in S19 they should be legit.

I think you guys will win at least 9 games and make the playoffs, then have an outside shot at a home playoff game. The fluke loss to RR obviously hurts both. Saigon will take some luck, but I think you have a decent chance against everyone else. CB obviously has better talent, but dpride has never been able to gameplan.

This is correct- thelanger got us some nice replacement players in the offseason, and if we can win out it should put us in a nice position for offseason recruiting after S17. No guarantees- we still have a lot of tough games on the schedule, and playoffs can be a crapshoot, but we have done it before- so that is the goal.

Yup our schedule is loaded in the second half, but hopefully VD are still 12 levels lower than us like 2 seasons ago
....oh

Wildfire had the opposite schedule as Wowi - insanely packed early, and we ended up with a ton of <1 TD losses to playoff teams that put us out of it early :\. One season later and we've have stayed, IMO. And if Blood/Queens made it one season earlier, they might have also.

Crossing my fingers Moose Jaw can pull off another play off season....but those losses to Wowi and Russian are looming over our heads at the moment. Still have Gurupies, blaze, saigon (today), oasaka, and gunny to play. i'm sure i'm missing some other solid teams that could hand us a loss but ya. Wowi is definetly better then they are prediciting themselves to be. I thought moose would handle em for sure but that wasn't the case...i defienlty see you guys sticking it out for many mor eseasons.

Nice win!

Hali n Wowi look good, QCBC and MJR are in a battle to make playoffs and CSII are looking forward to CPL again.

WL looks like a bloodbath up there tbh. 4 teams surviving would be awesome.

Wowi is legit.

I work on the Montreal Rulers squad and they had couple games vs Wowi last year and got smoked but didn't know how'd they translate to the WL..... safe to say 7-1 in extremely strong Zeta makes a big statement.

Just glad we could give Kai a nice leg sweeping
